Always liked David Tua and he provided some fun and vigour to the 1990's. But how can his fight with gatekeeper Monte Barrett be PPV, how is this justified.

I thought PPV was a symbol of signficance not mediocrity. Is this the only way to finance fights these days?

    Whats wrong with boxing?

Choc Mundine fights welterweights at middle on PPV regularly. People like him and Amir Khan are bad for boxing. Mundine is fighing the 5th best rated Argentinian welterweight this weekend on PPV.

the way you have to see it is that its better to have access to these fights than not at all because they are not televised on regular cable

I like both heavyweights, and yes, better this than unavailable.

Particularly when Tua is transplanted from his ticket-buying local audience.

But it just strikes me as tough on hardcore fans in the current climate.

If this fight was on terrestrial, as we call it in UK, free-to-air, it would likely get a healthy audience.

I suppose it says a lot, Tua would be a bigish draw in the UK.

I still expect Holyfield to fight here eventually, whether it be Haye or someone else when he's about 63!

Were you under a rock when he was fighting low-level PPVs against MUCH lesser opponents than even the shot Monte Barrett in 2007, or did you only start following the sport effective as of your join date, in October of that year?

This is nothing new, nor is it worse than any of the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. PPVs - not even the upcoming date with Duddy.
