Right. That's pretty much my only major issue with it. We have more than enough divisions for fights to happen in and catch weights just make things more ridiculous. It's like when all the fights that should've happened at 160 were happening at 166 and 170.

It doesn't matter to him. He'll keep bringing that one fight up anyway. He's a Pac hater. He tries to disguise it but fails.

Quote me on anything "hatefull" or untrue I have ever said about Pac(don't worry I'll wait).:deal

Like I said, you're just a sensitive ******* who thinks the only way to worship your hero is to be constantly on his nuts!

Real boxing fans don't play that!

Its nothing wrong with catchweights...I dont understand why people have such a problem with Catchweights...Its basically helping both fighters IMO.

Well if more fighters are comfortable at 144...why not just open up a division there?

I mean seriously there are going to be more fights at 144...why not just make it a division?

We need LESS divisions. Catchweights give credence to fighters trying to push for MORE divisions.

Thats not my point man...If you have to fighters arguing about what weight it should be at why not just settle it with a catch weight??

I understand that there is one too many weight classes as it is but given the greed that fighters have (and promoters as well) some fans might want to see a fight between a fighters in 2 diffent weight classes...(just an example) Fighter A want to fight at 160 and fighter B wants to fight at 147..They might not come to terms on the weight so why not have them fight at a weight that may compliment both fighters???

Thats all I'm trying to say.

This is what i posted in other thread:

If a boxer wants to take a CHALLENGE take it fairly, it doesnt matter if you wouldnt be the favorite thats why BOXING is so UNIQUE, any fighter can beat any fighter, its part of the sport, but with all this CATCHWEIGHT BS is starting to look like BASKETBALL POINTSPREADS, "all right i fight with you but give me a 5 point handicap so we could be even" or "give me 4-5 pounds in my favor so we could be even" or "give me 8 oz gloves and you use 10 oz gloves so we could be even" what the **** is that? I know the comment of the gloves weight is exageratte but seriously this is ****ing BOXING NOT POINTSPREADS SPORTS... for real is starting to get ridiulous... If SOMEONE WANTS TO TAKE A CHALLENGE TAKE IT HOW IT IS NOT TRYING TO MAKE IT EVEN !!! IF THEY THINK THEY CANT HANDLE IT SO DONT TAKE IT, ITS THAT EASY !!!

Well if one fighter fights at 147 and the other at 160, the fight should be at 154 presumably. That's fair.

I got your point about wanting both fighters to be comfortable. I really do understand that. I just think the more catchweights you allow, the more guys will take advantage of it.

I'm not just talking about Manny/Mosley though. Just saying that I have no interest in say Adamek vs Hopkins at 166 lbs or things like Cory Spinks vs Kelly Pavlik at weight at like 158. Guys getting REALLY finicky over it, no what I mean man?

I see what you're saying...You do have a point about that...I can just see one fighter bitching and moaning:

" but but but he fought him at this weight...so why cant I fight him at this weight"

Seriously though, If we were to allow a lot more catchweights I do agree its starting an ugly monster we dont want to get into....Spells out a plan for disaster.

Not only that but I could see the catchweight issue coming up with Floyd vs JMM. Floyd could say that he wants it at 147 because ODLH vs Pac was at 147 and all that. Pac would want a catch weight etc etc etc.

Catchweights are good if they give us big fights...you just have to be careful about how you do it basically.
