What's you guys opinion on Mike Tysons all time ranking?

  1. maybe not exactly in his prime but evander is 4 years older than tyson, so evander was by far past his prime, and tyson was still good, post prison... he destroyed every rival like frank bruno but evander kicked his ass. why?¿

He didn't just beat his opponents, he DESTROYED them. And, he never got taken out early by two ordinary contenders when he was in the heart of his career, when he held the title. Only a PRIME, peaking Buster Douglas and the best HW of the era, Evander Holyfield, were able to take him out when he was even CLOSE to his best. And even then, it took MANY rounds to do it.

Evander Holyfield was the best Heavyweight of the 90's but he didn't compete against the 80's heavyweights when they were prime. I would loved to see Spinks and Evander, I think Spinks would of outboxed him but it would of been compettive. But Buster was terribly out of shape when Holyfield fought him, not Evanders fault but it was definetly factor though.

As for Lewis, he should just be lucky he stayed in the ametuers after Biggs beat him for the gold, because he would been beatin more than once and a young Tyson would of knocked him out and I have no doubts about that.

And slow ass George Foreman would be human punching bag for A PRIME TYSON. Tyson would beat him with his jab, counterpunching and combinations, it would look just like Trinidad/Mayorga fight. A fundamentally sound puncher with skills, against slow crude puncher with no skills, only power.

Tyson got beat up in sparring by a 17 year old 190lbs bean pole Lennox Lewis in 84.... just 2 years before Tysons supposed prime. Tysons career is all if's, buts and maybes. Nobody is doubting his abilities or that he knocked limited competition out in style but the argument is that he is not high on the ATG list because every time he faced a 'great' opponent he got beat.... Now let go of the mans nuts and look at it objectively

Also the 90's is regarded as one of the strongest HW divisions in history and the 80's as a **** era that had 2 good fighters reigning (Holmes early 80's and Tyson)

Tyson was undisputed champion when Lewis was mere amateur. If Lewis would have turned pro after his loss in Olympics, he would have get destroyed by Tyson and you would be here, calling Lewis one of the bums Tyson beat in 80ths.

Lucky for him he decided to start after Tyson’s reign of domination and even managed to beat Tyson, who was 14 years past his best.

He makes up for longevity by how active he was. He fought over 30 times in a span of about 5 years, and made 9 successful title defenses.

Beating couple of years past it great one and undefeated P4P great, who is maybe the best light heavy of all time, is indeed impressive.

You wouldn’t call it impressive if someone would have destroyed Lewis in couple of rounds in 2002 and then go on and destroyed undefeated Roy Jones jr?

    :patsch
How about dominating division with ease and unifying belts.

Tyson was too dominating, so he dosent get proper respect for his victories.

If Tyson would have beaten Holyfield in 1996, same guys would still be here telling same **** how Tyson never beat any other greats.

Only old hasbeen Holmes, Spinks who really didn't belong to HW and Holyfield who was hasbeen and didn’t belong to heavies.

I have a tough time with Tyson. I was 7 years old when Ali beat Liston the first time, and 21 when he regained the title from Spinks, so I literally grew up during one of the best heavyweight eras in history. It's tough to look at those who came later, and try to compare them to likes of 60's and 70's heavyweghts.
