Was Haye really the baddie, BB? I for one was hoping he'd shake things up a bit. Even though i'm a big fan of the brothers grimm.

  2. I think he was, yeah.

    Albeit a pantomime one.

Part one of Legendary Nights ''Lewis vs Tyson'' sums up the goodie and the baddie, when Ralph Wiley speaks about them both.

I won't pretend to have been right about Haye from the start of his HW career like a few were (Gaz especially) so there's an element of disappointment/frustration when it comes to analysing him, hence why I'm often more scathing than I ought to be.

Yeah, in other words you're just a hater...;):yep

  4. I suppose I am, yeah.

I stand by all my statements on him, but I'm over the ''I hope he gets brutally KTFO'' phase, have been for a while.

My overriding ''emotion'' on him if you like is one of pity, he sold himself out for a few extra quid and is now not much more than an Audley-esque laughing stock. Make as much as you can and get hurt as little as you can....

Obviously that's a fighter's mantra, but jesus.... at least try and win the biggest fight of your career.

very true, Haye went from being a ballsy cruiser who went looking to shake up the division and roll the dice so to speak, to a fighter who will (unfairly) be largely be looking upon with ridicule and sometimes contempt instead of the exciting, if flawed cruiserweight puncher he was

Calzaghe Lacy will always be my best memory, it was the fight that was on terrestrial and the build up showed this cocky american who they made out to be the new mike tyson which of course led to a 12 round masterclass by a fellow welshman, A great night for me

Forgive me as my memory isn't what it use to be. But i'm sure Joe C Wales didn't take that one trick pony to school in 2011.

The decision for Groves v Degale. Never have I hugged whoever's sitting next to me at a boxing match and then the whole row start going mental. It was absolutely amazing.

That was good, but this year will always be remembered for Tyson Spinks.

John Murray, solid favourite but out on the **** before the Mitchell fight

Gets stopped & then he goes 11 brutal rounds with an overweight Rios.

Haye & Barker both fought the best possible opponents but Murray vs Rios is my favourite memory of the year & it should have been stopped after the 9th or 10th. Murray was completely outgunned but wouldnt give in, his corner should have been more sympathetic.

I think Booth's a pretty ruthless individual. Can't imagine anyone ****ing with him.

In another five years the hype will be forgotten and all people will talk about is how he was a great cruiser with a decent smash n' grab at HW.

He knows how to handle himself i seen vids of him when he's younger he's got a swagger and far less middle class style if you get what i mean. He comes across a lot more professional now for obvious reasons. Jim's type to get sparked in a street fight and come back same night tooled up. Just impression i get from him. Mentalist ..

I was at my mates house, 2 of us were big boxing fans, other 4 or 5 casual fans. The whole room went up when Groves got the decision. It was like United scoring a last minute winner at city. Mental.
