I don't find him that easy on the eye Suze ,obviously very effective but he doesn't come over as fluid or exciting ,just completely effective and he is always bossing his fights.

Same. He's frankly difficult to watch. Can't thinbk of any fights of his that were really compelling. Briscoe II, maybe, if only for Round 9 where he gets buzzed.

    All of them.

I really enjoy watching Monzon operate. Favorite? Maybe the Benvenuti fight, his coming out party. His carriage, unflappable nature and subtle adjustments are sublime.

Yes, dominant fighters are rewarding to watch. I find excellence in results, then try to sort stylistic why's and how's.

Bingo!! Just what I was going to list...
Monzon fascinates me...I even like to watch the Napoles fight occasionally.

Yes...dominance..I guess it fascinates me...and Monzon was one of the most dominant champions of all time.
But I don't know...some people hate a guy who dominates.

Well, Monzon sure wasn't warm and fuzzy, that's for sure...just a winner.

The first Benvenuti fight great! I remember watching it on direct TV.

Monzon was ruthles in destructing my countryman Tom Bogs. Poor Tom was in way over his head in that fight.

Show me these hateful posts. It's perfectly ok to find a dominant fighter boring. If that's hating then so be it.

His bout with Jose Naploles, 1974 iirc. Not the most exciting end to a fight, but Monzon got the job done.

Love Valdez II and Briscoe. A lot of his fights the film is just sketchy and that is a shame. Also, I can't really enjoy an old fight unless the commentary is in English. Can't seem to find a good replay of Valdez I, the video is horrible and commentary spanish.

Lots of people hate Monzon, or rather dismiss him far too easily...and it has mostly to do with his style. Aesthetics mostly...and screw that...they're just lazy and not willing to understand that Monzon was extremely clever and resourceful....efficient mostly. More than his physical attributes, his prodigious ring IQ was stellar. He won all his damned fights after his last defeat in 1964...avenged all three defeats and never lost again. The casual, and even the not so casual boxing fan can't quite wrap their brains around Monzon.
