There's too much dumb arguing here about Floyd and Manny. I figured we should have one of those threads that reminds us why we're here in the first place. Why we're boxing fans and why ultimately we would probably all get along if we weren't arguing all the time. So: your favorite fight of all time. You know, the one you can watch over and over. The one you show friends if you want to get them into boxing. The one you visualize in your head when you're bored and need a mental pick-me-up or a rush of psychological adrenaline. Mine is Barrera-Morales I. I was a bigger Morales fan when I first saw it but they both absolutely won me over and now Barrera is my all-time favorite. Just two old school Mexican warriors trading brutal combinations for 12 rounds and never backing off. I had it 116-112 for Barrera, but the decision doesn't take away from the savage beauty of the encounter. What about you guys? What makes these fights so special to you? :bbb:bbb:bbb
Barrera Morales 1 for me too. Seen it about 200 times and I still get tingles watching it. Amazing fight.
Probaly Morales-Barrera 1 aswell. Gomez-Arthur gotta be in my Top 3 and never hear about it on these boards!
For me I have 100's but just to name a few: Sal Sanchez-Gomez Ali-Frazier 1 Trinidad-Mayorga Cotto-Bailey Robinson-Lamotta 6 Hopkins-Trinidad
Duran-Leonard I 15 rounds of displaying of the art of boxing between two pound for pound top 10 legends of all time. Maybe Mayweather-Pacquiao can beat this level of skill.
Vargas VS Trinidad (watching Fernando give such a heroic performance inspite of the low blows and obvious class jump made me start boxing, I plan on nameing my first son Fernando) and the other was Corrales-Castillo
I have never had a decent copy of the fight, just old VHS **** with snow and flickering at the edges.
Goddammit. I also forgot to mention another favorite, Salvador Sanchez/Azumah Nelson. Brutal back-and-forth action for 15 rounds between two incredible fighters that ended with a satisfying knockout.
