pac v jmm 2 is my fav international fight maybe its just a scottish thing but i'll always have a soft spot for jim watt v ken buchanan
Vasquez-Marquez 3 is an astonishing fight. Watching it live, you thought one guy was going to get stopped, then you thought the other guy was going to get stopped. Both guys got knocked down. Barrera-Morales 1 never had that edge-of-the-seat drama. It is one of the best fights ever, it's a highly skilled and very compelling encounter, but at no point did I think either man was badly hurt or going to get stopped, plus no knockdowns. It's probably a better fight than Vasquez-Marquez 3 in terms of quality (though Vasquez-Marquez is more high quality than its given credit for. Rafa is a fantastic puncher, great punching technique) but it isn't more exciting or more epic or more dramatic IMO. I prefer Vasquez-Marquez 3, as an impartial viewer, considering none of the four guys as real favourites of mine, though I like and respect them all.
castillo-corales 1, all marquez-vasquez, hopkins-dlh, pac-dlh, pac-mab 1, pac-morales 2&3, mosley-margarito, gatti-ward 1, andre ward-kessler, donaire-darchynian
mosley-cotto, clottey-margarito, cotto-margarito, mosley-collazo, hopkins-tarver, hopkins-taylor 1 & 2, hopkins-pavlik, jones-toney, jones-clinton woods, mccallum-curry, morales-mccullough, barrera-mckinney, curry-larocca, benn-eubank 1 & 2, hamed-sanchez
I thought their second fight was better. I'd try and explain like you did why I find Barrera/Morales I to be more compelling than any other fight I've ever seen, but it's too good to put into words. The speed, athleticism on the part of both men, the combination's, it boggles the mind. I agree with Glen McCrory. "I've seen an awful lot of fights in my time, but for me, I've never seen one as good as this one before".
Hearns Hagler and Hearns Duran. Any Julian Jackson knockout. I just love his knockouts. Curry/McCallum. Ali/Foreman.
Holy crap, I just watched this fight. The overhand right that puts Moore down at the very end of the seventh is absolutely earthshattering. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMfDqZyn1NM&feature=related[/ame] Fast-forward to 2:40
Too bad Duran could never get that sort of punch to land against Hearns or Benitez at 154. Also Duran thumbed Moore so Moore could not see it. Moore had 11 fights total. Had Duran been able to knock out hearns like that it would have been something, but as it turned out Hearns really turned the table on Duran. This is what happens when Duran fights a real great at 154 and not Davey Moore!!![ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asiE3nAzqwQ[/ame]
People keep putting down wars but how about just pure schoolings like my favs Toney-Barkley, Trinidad-Wright, or Mayweather-Corrales?
