I was 15 and remember watching Chavez vs Taylor 1 with my Dad and my Brothers. Chavez was our favorite boxer and we all went nuts when he stopped Taylor. Honorable mentions: Tyson/Holmes Tyson/Spinks Hagler/Leonard
Calzaghe vs Lacy, i love the close battles rather than a schooling. But on this occasion i had fallen for the Lacy hype and didnt think Joe was guna do it. Was on very late even though in the UK the anticipation and nerves made that a very very long day. And in the end i felt like i was being treated to poetry it was just so beautiful to watch. On the night Benn vs McClellan was something special it really was. Cant really enjoy a replay of it though after what happened to McClellan in that fight. Also both Benn vs Eubank fights and both Eubank vs Watson fights. What an era for excitment in British Boxing that was.
Lewis/Klitschko for me, same as OP. But the fight that got me back into boxing in a big way was Matthyse/Molina Jr, although I have been a boxing fan since I was a young kid I drifted in and out throughout my twenties but after watching that war my love of boxing returned and hasn't waned since. (both on TV as I have never attended a live event)
Live, as in the arena? ODLH vs Mayorga was great Canelo vs Angulo was fun Mayweather vs Judah was also pretty fun Mayweather vs Maidana II was a let down... Had tickets to Mayweather vs Berto but left after Badou Jacks's fight, I knew it was going to be boring...
I went to this fight and the atmosphere was amazing! MGM was filled with ODLH fans and when he dropped Mayorga the first time everyone went nuts!
In person, I'd say Ricky Burns v Roman Martinez. Great atmosphere and seeing Ricky pull it off was amazing. On tv, it was Castillo v Coralles I. I was screaming like a lunatic, throwing punches at thin air during that 10th round. It was about 5am and I couldn't sleep afterwards because of the adrenaline. Unbelievable.
Lewis vs Vitali, Calzaghe vs Lacy, Pacquiao vs Marquez 4, Martinez vs Chavez Jr, Skelton vs Williams, Fury vs Cunningham, Fury vs Klitschko because I was there basically ringside. Enjoyed the Hatton era too.
1. Timothy Bradley - Ruslan Provodnikov 2. Mickey Bey - John Molina 3. Keith Thurman - Shawn Porter 4. Omar Figueroa - Nihito Arakawa 5. Carl Frampton - Leo Santa Cruz I All on TV, never attended a match.
