Nice, in the VHS days..there was another tape of Langford...his punches are very snappy..very like Jack Johnson in style....love to have seen him live.
****, no one kept the video from back in the day?!?! All the fights of Langford that are around are on YouTube, if you're interested.
Love to see the Flynn one.....looked online cant find any...I remember Cayton and Jacobs going around the world finding all the old fights. The one i wish for is Ray Robinson in his prime...Jacobs before his death i believe thought he found some...lukcy tyson was having the entire collection...way before the internet days.
Also, what stylistic similarities do you see between Langford and Jack? Or was it just their punching form? I wouldn't say they're too similar judging on what we have of both.
Bill Claytons documentary of Robinson, which does have footage of him in the Golden Gloves and pre-middleweight as a pro', is on YouTube in it's entirety as well.
Physical presence, punches and holding on, wearing there opponent down..the way they moved...standing tall, etc
The Jeanette fight is the most interesting IMO. Goes to show how violent their series probably was, and it's interrupt to see Jeanette do his thing. He looks a bit like a prototype Roy Jones. Langford knocks him down numerous times as Jeanette feels the pace later on. Fascinating.
Can't find the Flynn fight in full (used to be up must been taken of YB) but theres some footage of it in the last two minutes of this video [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuOXZ0yzKao&feature=related"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuOXZ0yzKao&feature=related[/ame]
