Mine was meeting Jack Dempsey with my dad when I was about six or seven at a his long-gone Broadway restaurant in N.Y.

He came over the size of a building and bent down 'n barked, "PUT UP YOUR DUKES!" roiling those giant mitts in my face.

i jumped into a stance. He roared with laughter and scooped me on to his shoulder; his Mt. Rushmore face only inches from mine...as vivid now as it was then.

Watching this guy as a kid, no doubt. Complete entertainer.

Also, as irrelevant as it was in the scheme of things, jumping around my living room at 5am with my brother to this brings back fond memories. Alwaysd had a soft sport for Danny  :

Muhammad Ali's trash talking on Frazier for the "Thrilla in Manila." I was just a young little boy and for me it almost equals MLK's "I have a dream." I don't know why but those words and images are stuck in my head.

I remember seeing hopkins-de la hoya and hopkins-trinidad as a kid and loving it, but recently, going up to hartford with my buddy to watch dawson-johnson 2, and watching alfredo angulo destroy harry joe yorgey, shutting up these lame pennsylvanians sitting behind us, monotonolously shouting, "harry joe, harry joe, harry joe." that **** stopped in the third round of that fight, abruptly. what a night.

It's impossible for me to pick just one.

    My top 3 candidates are:

Working out at Larry Holmes's gym for 6 years. Nothing beats being in the same gym as one of the all time greats, even if he was in 50s and 60s. Some of my favorite memories happened in those 6 years under that roof.

Going to the boxing hall of fame with my father for the past 5 years and getting to see and meet several great fighters, some of which have since died (Jose Torres, Angelo Dundee, Bert Sugar, Ron Lyle, Alexis Arguello, Eddie Perkins, etc).

Watching old fights with my dad and grandfather and listening to my grandfather talk about the fights he went to in Philly during the 50s and 60s is still one of my favorite things to do. My grandfather's favorites to talk about are those that he saw fight in person. People like Joey Giardello and Gaspar Ortega. I was very pleased seeing him finally get to meet two of his all time favorites Carmen Basilio and Gaspar Ortega within the past year, guys he hadn't seen in person since the 50s or 60s.

I just remember watching Lewis/Holyfield draw, and realizing what a snake Don King REALLY was, and made me realize how corrupt boxing is.

Then a few months later, Don's guy Trinidad gets an absolute gift against Delahoya. When they announced Trinidad the winner I just smiled, shook my head, and drank my pepsi knowingly.

Watching the Corrales vs Castillo fight. Going to live fights like: Camacho vs Paz, Camacho vs SRL, Tito vs SweetPea. Bobby Cyz going out of his way into the rain to get a photo of himself so that he could autograph it for me. He was training as a HW and was still training when I asked him for one. Getting the best of Edwin Cureit in sparring years ago. He was a 140 contender years before.

playing on the same bj table w/pacquiao a few days before his second fight with morales. he was loose and laid back as can be. crazy gambler as far as high stakes but he knows what he's doing as far as trying to make moves that won't make the table pissed at him. very polite when the woman sitting at third base left he asked if it would be ok if he sat there.

I used to get my asked kicked for weeks and weeks everytime I sparred, alot of the guys were experienced and they would counter me everytime I jabbed, or threw anything. So eventually I decided to just swarm guys and the first time I tried it I had my man against the rope and was throwing uppercuts to the body busting him up I felt like Miguel Cotto or Margarito or someone, it was a feeling of relief like I had found myself in ring was great!
