When you step in the ring, what is your gameplan? I am curious. There are a number of boxers that post here, with a wide range of experience. I am wondering how much of your game plan was given to you by a coach, and how much is your own a.k.a. things you learned in sparring that work well for you. I'll give you mine, and hope that any future opponent of mine doesn't check these forums I have two main goals when facing an opponent. I want to get off first (attack), and move before my opponent can counter. I aim to use my movement as a means of controlling the tempo of the fight. Also, I have always been a natural counter-puncher, and my goal is to never EVER let my opponent finish a combination. I want to interrupt him whenever he is punching. Straight-up defense is a last resort. TLDR: post your gameplan when you enter the ring (assume a generic opponent).
lolzzz but mi gameplan is too go off my opponent, but before i adjust to them, im jabbing with every kind of jab i know, quick, stiff, splitter, range-finder, feint the jab, to the point where i can use it to get off all my combos, soon after if they are still around im using angles to the left and right to get off my right hooks and triple up my crosses to the sides of their head & body, these are usually my knockout punches cuz mi opponents dont see em coming at all:bbb
