Same here, I try not to get to hung up on time and just run and a nice pace. Mate I'll try to time my run one day.

    I run 3.5 miles in 26 mins.

I think the biggest thing with improving cardio is doing it for more than 25 mins. Also before you fight in addition to long term cardio work on sprint intervals too. That will help you regain the energy to do fast hard combos. The road work makes it so you can recover on the stool more.

When I was a competitive athlete I could run a 6 minute mile

Now, well I ran 2 miles in 16 minutes so I guess I can run an 8 minute mile

They are really good times. I am currently running 3 miles 30 minutes give or take. I am going to be extending my distance to 5 miles. I will be doing it gradually to avoid injury

In high school I could do it in about 5:30 as a soccer player. I really think I could have broken 5 if I trained for it but who knows. When you start to get down that low it's a huge deal cutting off even 5-10 seconds.

Now at 25 years old and about 30 lbs heavier (mostly muscle) I would be lucky to break 6:15. Emphasizing on putting on muscle is disastrous to your time.

Gotta love reliving the glory days haha. I am officially that guy already at 25 years old.
