Estrada and Forbes weren't paralyzed by the speed as you put it rather they both were out worked which is how I see Berto winning against Collazo.

Predictable isn't quite the word to describe Berto. Yes he comes forward and throws in spurts but his array of punches from different angles using both hands makes it hard for his opponents to figure out his patterns. It's that combined with his tremendous speed that eclipses his straight forward approach in terms of predictability.

Has Berto had any problems with southpaws?

Oh, but they were. Especially where it counted as both guys spent significant periods waiting in that prototypical manner fighters wait on faster opponents. Nope. That time was precious. A little bit or alot - it doesn't matter.

You said it; his come forward spurts are predictable. That's as much as a world class counterpuncher needs to know. Specific combinations or individual punches are negotiable and part of the fundamental reflex instinct required of counterpunchers. They just have to know where the guy is going to be. Not what's happening once he gets there.

Berto has said in the leadup interviews it's not a problem. He's stopped every southpaw thus far. Berto also talked about sparring with Winky Wright and Chad Dawson over the years.

Forbes is a slick counter puncher who was able to land some nice shots by countering. I found his patient style as displayed against Berto more less as his game plan rather than evidence of frozen reflexes perpetuated by Berto's speed. As far as Estrada and his faring against Berto, to basically sum it up he put his head down and threw punches. He didn't seem to worried about what was coming back and eventually suffered a bad tko loss as a result.

We shall see my friend. Berto's explosive spurts against a good, not great counter puncher. Lets see Collazo counter after eating a right hook then right uppercut combo. :yep
