Was happy that Max spoke up and called it quick. It really was.

Molina bowed down & put both gloves on top of his head in a Kindergarden "Don't hit me anymore" pose... Ref called like he seen it Molina gave the universal sign for "I give up".

From what I saw Demarco was just teeing off on the top of Molina's head. Don't know if he was hurting him but Molina was being seriously dense to not take a knee or give the ref some clue that he was alright. Who knows how long Molina would have sat there taking the shots so I think the ref did the right thing yeh.

Good win for Demarco but unfortunate stoppage IMO.

YOu can't blame the ref though. Molina is probably kicking himself right now
for not have taken a knee .:patsch

Overall, an unsatisfying ending for most boxing fans.

  9. i was disapointed because i was hoping to see more action, but Molina should have taken a knee so it could have been ruled a knock down. he was still on his feet and failed to defend himself. he gave the ref no choice.

it's Molina's own fault and a good win for demarco.

    cant wait for Broner-Demarco

Yup I saw it that way, he got nailed with a good shot was in trouble Covered up and basically all but rolled over like he was getting jumped by a dozen gang members.

Molina IMO basically folded and quit

Should have been given a squatting 8 count. But that's not exactly the rules so I suppose the ref did what he had to do in a sense. Wish it had gone on longer.

Molina put the ref in a position where he had to step in. He clearly should've taken a knee or at least adopted a stance where he looked like he wanted to continue.

I don't think Molina was *that* badly hurt and I'd like to have seen the fight continue but he put the ref in a tough spot.

He gave the ref no choice, you can't just crouch down and cover up.

I'd like to see a standing 8 under those circumstances though.

The referee did the right thing, Molina just took himself out of the fight. Maybe he'd have been able to recover, but I disagreed with the HBO crew on the stoppage. The ref doesn't have time to pause and reflect, and a guy with his hands in that posture is basically asking for the bout to be halted.

Unfortunately yes, Molina really didn't give the ref any other choice. He should have taken a knee, his corner should have been screaming at him to take a knee if they weren't. It's really too bad too, because that fight could have been really entertaining.
