Pedro Luis Diaz has demostrated that he used a calculated training method not only to improve Cotto's lateral movements but also his recovery capacity between rounds. IMO Emanual Steward would have done a different training for Cotto that would have been more similar to the Foreman and Mayorga fight and would have been more in favor to Margarito. Great training for Cotto and Pedro Luis Diaz.

I said in a pre-fight thread that this guy might have given Cotto a big edge on the psychology front. He also got the conditioning right so he could sustain that pace and slow down without being punished.Cotto could have done with this guy earlier,he knows his onions.
Excellent job,if he's no one fight wonder(professional) I think he'll do very well.

Great job by Diaz. He was able to get Cotto to do things he had been unwilling to do in the past like clinching and pushing Margo back. I think the most important thing he did for cotto was get him in great condition, his stamina was great last night.

Great job, very professional, and classy guy as well. Despite tensions with Cotto-Margarito he wished Margarito and his camp good luck. Would like to hear more of this trainer in the future.

Diaz was good obviously, but people always judge trainers on single fighter performances when in fact true working relationship is tested in the long run and when the chips are down. Diaz is a good trainer and they worked together well, so no reason to change. Can he give proper tactical and mental support if and when troubles come, now that we're yet to see.

I like him and Cotto seems to like him, don't change what is not broke.

IMO the best I've ever seen Cotto. He didn't throw as many body punches cos he has to plant his feet on the inside for that, and risks those uppercuts from Margo. He was outboxing him just fine.

Fighting Margarito seems to bring out a defensive slickness that I never knew he had.Even in the first half of the first fight.

You think this was a one time thing cus of the Klitschko fight and Cotto will go back to Steward or is Diaz here to stay?

Cotto was pushing Margarito around like a doll. Could Richardson have given some last minute advice? On the side note good work by Diaz and good instructions and connection with Cotto for being the first fight:good

The movement, stamina was excellent. I also dug how Cotto had a much sharper right hand. I agree excellent debut for Diaz. Surprisingly a great choice by Cotto.
