Loaded with talent and potential, the guy really could be something special...however he lacks mental strength and raw toughness which ever good boxer needs to succeed, which is why he will never amount to anything...
to add to what i said he is like a Victor Ortiz he will probably win a title and achieve a certain level of notoriety for a short period of time but somehow it wont last or he will come apart
he dont give a **** about fans or about what sort of fight he is in just as long as he is getting paid like a mother ****er
I really dislike Dirrell and have done since the Froch fight. He talked a load of **** and came across as a typical ***** like Mayweather or Broner, but then spent the entire fight running like a coward. If a boxer wants to talk ****, that's fine, but they have to be willing to back it up in the ring and Dirrell isn't. He's scared to engage with any opponent and his reluctance to fight leads to terrible bouts. However, whilst I disliked him after the Froch bout, my opinion on him plummeted after his fight with Abraham and subsequent lies. It's not just as simple as him lying about a brain injury, to me it is an insult to every fighter who has suffered legitimate injury in the ring. He used a deadly serious subject to fake his way out of a fight that he was losing control of, which is one of the most cowardly and shameless things I've ever seen in a boxing match. I was watching that at the very moment it happened and thinking "...is he really faking a knockout?". It was shameless. The lies after, with the whole Dr. Shaw Hi thing, was beyond pathetic and he ended up trivializing the worst aspect of this sport. I hope he doesn't fight again. Him and his brother are both classless pieces of **** and they don't deserve to make money within boxing. They're disgraceful people and an insult to the sport.
Always thought he had the best chance out of everyone from 168-175 to beat him. His hands are like lightning and could cause Ward trouble. Still pick Ward to beat him though.
I think he has very good boxing knowledge, and he started to get more confident with his offense after Froch. He looked very good in his first comeback fight, but now where the **** is he? The guy should have taken the Stevenson fight for an easy ticket back to a Froch rematch. So I don't know if to give up on the guy or what; he doesn't have a promoter anymore to my knowledge, and the guy needs to step it up and take a damn fight. Perhaps he could get in a fight with Pavlik, which I think he would be able to win based on Pavlik's recent fights. I can't see Pavlik getting KO'd though, probably go the distance.
Amazing talent. Great Boxer and amazing athelete, but wonder about his spirit as a warrior. He also took a brutal shot in that AA fight. He seems like a different guy mentally/spiritually in interviews now. He also seems to be a guy who is smart enough to have "options" pulling him in directions other than Boxing. He doesn't impress me as approaching the fight game as "This is all I have got!" You can't really do that in Boxing. I wish him the best of luck and hope to see him back. Boxing needs him and his talent. If not? I still wish him the best. Get working on a son or two for the next generation of Olympians!
Mental issues. Likes to run. Should probably take up Ping Pong. Basically .... This content is protected
He didn't fake a injury. however he was immature. I dont think he was ready mentally for stage yet. even though I do believe he beat Froch, and Froch is my boy. Despite that maybe Dirrel has matured now, that was his only problem IMO.
