All in 16 months. That's the best active short-term run in boxing.

There's something not right about that one. Even if you score it for Pac, I don't think it's enough to place JMM below Martinez/Donaire. I mean, JMM did way more than Pac's last 6 opponents, and gave Pac a very competitive fight.

Seriously, how can anyone possibly keep Pacquiao P4P #1? No justification possible. It would contradict so many things those same people have said so many times it would be laughable. Even if you give it to Pacquiao, admit it was by no more than a round, and that kind of fight does not go along with past precedents set in consensus and magazine/website opinions. I think it safe to say Mayweather will be everyones' #1 at 147, and almost everyones' #1 P4P.

    I'm gonna rescore it.

If pac won I have him top.

If jmm won I have him top.

If it was a draw I have floyd top.

I still think you are weighing this fight to much. I am a fan of both guys and I always considered them #1 A and B for the longest time. It was clear to me the man in the ring on the weekend was no longer Number 1.

If Pac and PBF ever fought I would have to give him the edge and I would also give him a solid edge over JMM so I could not rank either one over him. Unless you think JMM has improved and PBF has declined enough to erase their match-up.

PBF beat JMM with skill not size advantage and held the advantage in speed and quickness which usually diminishes with added size

Well i've jus rewatched the fight.

    Jmm - mp

9-10: mp better work in a close round
10-9: jmm good combinations and defence
10-9: controlled round by jmm picking mp apart
9-10: mp moving much better and landing frequently
10-9: jmm much better defence and better clean shots being landed
9-10: brilliant round for mp landing good clean shots.
10-9: close but clear round as both fighters step it up a notch.
10-9: punch perfect timing for jmm showing great defence and timing.
9-10: close round with mp getting the slight nod based on clean shots and effective aggression.
10-9: mp tried nicking the round but left it too late
9-10: jmm takes foot off the gas and mp edges it on aggression
9-10: good final push by mp as he edges the final round.

    I score it a draw.

As a result it's clear to me i'd underestimated the abilities of juan marquez which moves him further up the pecking order.

Based upon the result I think pac and marquez are as evenly matched as ever. Floyd's victory over marquez looks a hell of a lot better now meaning his last 3 fights actually stack up quite well in comparison.

I completely believe juan prepared a lot better for the pac fight and I believe pac faced a better marquez than floyd did. I don't think the difference is big enough to erase the result however.

Floyd moves to the top pending a pac v jmm rematch where the winner will surely jump ahead again.

    Floyd
    Pac
    Jmm
    Martinez
    Donaire
