How is Sergio P4P? Alcoholic Pavlik, perhaps the most unskilled "elite" fighter in Williams, 154lb titlist Dzinziruk, unknown Barker what a P4P run. Let me know when he fights some top MW's.

It depends on the situation back then, sergio beat cintron but got robbed and was a underdog vs pw who was p4p ranked, he also beat pw acording to many people and that fight ended controversial as well with a judge having a 119-110 type card which is impossible.
So he wasnt p4p ranked back then but probably somewhere between 10-20, when he defeated pavlik and got his belts at 160 it was a great victory since only bhop had done it before, this along with other boxers who were p4p ranked losing caused him to be somewhere at the end of peoples top 10 list, he then brutally ko'd p4p ranked paul williams ( i believe he was still ranked around 5 when they fought, not sure) then he took his place somewhere in the middle of the list.
You then have him beating undefeated dzinziruk brutally while everyone thought he was made to look bad, chad dawson lost his p4p top 5 spot when he got schooled by pascal and montiel who was at 5 lost to donaire who was 7 I think, therefore sergio became number 3/4 then when floyd retired he was 2.
His opposition hasnt been impressive since then neither was his performance against barker, therefore I have donaire at 4 and him at 5.
His resume might not be hof level but he is worthy of his p4p ranking currently.

What happened to, to get no.1 you have to beat that guy ?

Pac hasn't lost in his recent fights. You can't give Floyd top spot for beating Ortiz the way he did. Pac officially never lost to JMM, whether you believe JMM was robbed or not, it was a close fight, whatever whatever.

    1. Pac
    2. Floyd
    3. Nonito
    4. Sergio

Williams at the time was P4P top 5 , he had only been beaten once and everybody from Mayweather to Pavlik was avoiding him , and Martinez fought him twice :deal

Pavlik , unbeaten at the weight , undisputed champion of the division , Martiez schooled him , as a JrMW , Pavlik was 176 on the night

Dzinziruk and Barker were knocked out

There is nobody @60 worth fighting , the division is **** , he needs a JrMW to step up (Canelo or Lara would be big) or he needs to do the impossible again and go up in weight and look for the big guns there (Bute , Ward)

Very worthy of P4P status IMO

A lot of truth but at 160 guys like pirog and golovkin are definitely worth fighting.

Top mw's? KP was the top mw. PWill was top 5 p4p and mw, plus he was coming off a gift victory over martinez. Barker was top ten ranked and macklin is top 5 ranked.

Martinez's run of 7 victories since breaking out is bunema, cintron, williams, pavlick, williams, dzindzuruk, barker and now he's fighting top 5 mw macklin.

It's as good a recent run as any in the sport.
