What's Your Position On Pacquiao? Fan Or Not?

Well said. Too many people here act like they have to pick a side, and stick to it no matter what.

And hating the really fanatical followers is a weak reason. Loads of great fights through the years, all the great moments. Pac's given a lot to the sport.

 

I'm a Pac fan.

He's a great fighter!

That does NOT mean I feel the need to denigrate other world class fighters.

Sure we can joke around and give constructive criticism... but the hate is unnecessary.:nono

Yes, Pac has his fanatics... and I was NOT pleased when they threatened and harassed Tim Bradley... all because he was awarded a controversial win over Pac.

Bradley (in these fans' minds) was somehow to "blame" because he gave it his best and the judges gave him the win.:nut

But Pac shouldn't be hated because of a handful of fanatics either!

Of course Floyd Mayweather JR. and other great (and not so great) fighters have their hard core fanatics too!

I think these kinds of "fans" ruin it for everyone.

 

How can you not be a fan ?When was he ever n a boring fight ?

 

He's been a brilliant fighter I just hate his cheerleaders on here and his catch weight world titles, plus the media make manny out to some sort of saint when we all know he's not

 

NOT... Stylistically he doesn't appeal to me... I like fundamental guys

Fun to watch live, but once the smoke clears a few days later I'm not interested... Its not just him, its loads of "epic" fighters like him

First time I saw Corrales-Castillo, 10 rounds never flew by so fast... Second time around, it was just 2 guys standing in front of each other throwing punches... Meh

 

Oh yes crazy atmosphere, mostly pro morales crowd but crazy fun.

 

Well I'm a fan but I'm also happy he was knocked out. People that hate on him or any ATG rob themselves the chance to appreciate the sport to the fullest.

 

Big fan, but definitely not an obsessed "*******". I wish he had volunteered to do random drug testing for all of his fights, just to prove that he is clean and has nothing to hide. His great accomplishments will always have unanswered questions surrounding them.

 

I would say I'm somewhere in the middle. I really appreciate what he has done for the sport as well as enjoy his exciting fighting style, heart, and determination. I think I'll appreciate him even more once he retires. What keeps me from been a big fan of his? Well, basically he has beaten some of my favorite fighters pretty badly as well as been granted controversial decisions against Marquez when, in my opinion, he should have not. As ridiculous as it may sound to judge a fighter by his fans, I have witnessed first hand the obnoxious behaviour of "*******s" in my wife's family. They did not make me hate or even dislike Paquiao but they just made me not become a big fan of his. A lot of times I would be watching the fights with them and hoping they could be shut up. Well, it finally happened! Nonetheless, I would still like to see Pacquiao come back and take on a few more challengers.

 

I have learned to appreciate what he brought.

It's not his fault. It's his fan base's fault.

If every single *******+Klittard was like FelixTrinidad/Skittlez .. the forums will be a far better place.

But sadly they are not.. They are like that crazed dude vladimir23...

 

can't see how anyone wouldn't like Pac - as a fighter and as a personality.

to me it seems the only people who dont like him are either insecure floyd fans who are upset that pac gets more credit, or people who are so pissed off with pac's die hard non-boxing fans that they dont like the fighter.

 

Been a fan since Barrera-Pacquiao I was shown on terrestrial television, which was a rarity.
