I think both Amir Khan's and Marcos Maidana's stock rocketed on Saturday night and both left with something positive. Marcos Maidana showed there are no lows he can't come back from and that the Ortiz win wasn't out of luck, in fact, he can compete with the elite and give them either the fight or the knockout of their life. And Amir Khan put all those demons behind first showcasing his stellar skills when the world was carefully watching, than overcoming serious moments with incredible heart and determination for a well-deserved win. You could say in a way this fight defined not one but two careers, as such competitive, dramatic, close fights often do.

What fights would you throw in that defined both participants on the same night?

The only other fight you mentioned in your post: Ortiz vs Maidana.

Catillo vs. Corrales -- you can't say the name of one without mentioning the other.

JCC vs. Taylor -- Taylor was never the same. JCC had the Don King aroma attached to him for the rest of his career.

Marquez vs. Vasquez -- see first comment

Kind of think Williams / Martinez I & II will both define their careers and always be two of their three most significant/epic fights.

Leonard vs Hearns I was the most important fight in either man's career.
