Fights that had all ingredients for a ko, but failed. George foreman v Tommy morrison, two big punching heavy s, the fight ended in a decision win. Second tyson ruddock ft, produced two kd s but went to the cards. Smith and tyson. Promised much but turned in to a hugfest. Sure there's a few more instances out there?

Klitschko vs Haye. After all the prefight hype, was sure someone was going to be knocked out. Lost money on that.

P.S. Klitschko vs Joshua. After all the prefight hype, was sure someone was going to be knocked out. ALMOST lost money on that. :number_one:

Trinidad vs DelaHoya. I don't know that it promised a knockout but most of us were expecting fireworks. The fight was a big letdown.

Thought that was a sure thing for a ko. Would have put cash on it!

It was, but the result was a bit of a upset. Think Oscar was the favourite.

As you have already mentioned, Bonecrusher vs Tyson. I watched the fight, and apart from the first round, it was a snoozer. If I remember right, I think all Smith wanted to do was survive.
A real stinker back in the late '90s was Lennox Lewis vs Henry Akinwande. There may have been a possibility of some sort of glue finding its way onto big Henry's gloves..................................

Ah I think your on to something there raga. Henry was over come with a fear of throwing a punch against Lewis im certain! Didn't that fight follow the mccall break down? It seemed everybody at that time was having a bad reaction to facing Lewis.

Not many fighters have ever yelled "I am going to outpoint the SOB" at the press conference.

Its about expectations of a fight though. Did any one expect foreman and frazier to go the distance in their rematch? How surprised would people have been if Hagler and Hearns had gone to a decision? The type of fights that going in get the stomach flipping cos your that excited. You "know there s gonna be a savage ko some where cos both guys normally deliver..But then they don't. For what ever reason. If you put dempsey and tyson together in the ring, are you thinking :well it s bound to go the distance.?

Maybe slightly. He was the bigger star but Trinidad was also undefeated and the more established Welterweight.

Maidana vs Khan only time he ever survived a big puncher and barely survived at that the 11 th round Jesus was relentless could easily been stopped. Or fights where ko was unexpected Marquez vs pacman
