When all is said and done GGG's era will overshadow FMJ's cherry era.

People love fighters who looks like super-saiyans inside the ring! They need a bad man with venom in his punches!

    Boxing history loves savage punchers!

Floyd's era was filled with top Champs and ATGs, this era which is more Gonzalaz or Alvarez is filled with fake Champs and mediocre expectations.

I don't know why people discredit to the point of stupidity, but there is no currently active fighter that has done a 10th of what Floyd has.

Could you tell me about these "top champs" and "ATG" Floyd actually got in the ring with at their peak?

Why don't you check the thread I just made and answer for yourself outside of Gonzalaz, none of the guys you hold to a higher esteem have a better resume than Floyd at 130 alone.
Not Golovkin, not Crawford, not Kova, none of the heavies, none of the Welters people just blinded by dislike.

I love GGG but can't see him building a legacy on par with Floyd, I guess he would have to be forever young like Hopkins.

Still it's a remarkable reign simply because I've never seen someone so avoided by the other titlists in his division. I suppose it has something to do with the viciousness of Golovkin's style.

At the moment, GGG doesn't overshadow Floyd in terms of resume, even with the cherrypicking considered.

It's also possible that he may never.

But in terms of "who is the better fighter", Golovkin by a country mile.

Kovalev has a vicious style ....he gets fights .....

Wonder why ggg couldn't get a fight with a ward.....oh...it's cause he doesn't want one

They were all at their peaks. Who do you want to discredit? Every fight he had the opponent was coming off of a major high profile win. GGG wanted to fight Cotto. Was Cotto not at his peak for Floyd but you would jizz your shorts if he was on GGG's resume.

Define a fighter. I have been meaning to thread that but many of you have 0 idea of what a fighter is. Everyone thinks it's someone who punches like a robot but it's much more. It's psychological and physical. There are many boxers and few fighters.

Kovalev has had problems getting good opponents too, before Hopkins/Pascal he was often accused of fighting tomato cans. He still can't lure Stevenson into the ring, but thankfully Ward is brave enough to take risks, unlike a certain Mexican fighter.

If Ward was protected like Canelo, Kovalev would also be short of good opponents.
