Me and my boys are breaking down this fight. We came upon this issue...

How does Manny react when he cant hit the target?

My guess is that Floyd's first priority will be to get Manny out of rhythm using his jab, footwork, holding, swarming, elbowing and countering. Floyd will specially try to pounce on Manny with lead rights because before every time Manny jumps in for a 10 hit combo, he drops both hands to his waist first.

If Floyd is successful in breaking Manny's rhythm, how do you think he will react?

Does he get frustrated? Can he box his way to a victory? Has he shown in the past to have plan Bs and Cs. Will he simply up the pressure? Does he take it inside...?

A friend of mine points out that its unpredictable since the last guy to frustrate Manny was JMM, but that Manny has improved tremendously since then and JMM did not do it with great defense.

    So what say you?

when Manny drops both hands to throw a combo, he is doing it to goad his opponent into reacting and opening up. Its a feint, not a technical flaw. Floyd throwing a right hand lead at that point would be falling into Pacquiao's trap. He won't do it though.

In this one Elbows wont be a factor...he wont fight like Hatton...Floyd used those alot to frustrate a HOLDER and PAC does none of that.

Now for Pac yes...Floyd will use a lot of holding is it boring yup...is it effective of course...POTSHOT hold early to get them out there rhthym give them the sense that they are losing so they can speed up and make more mistakes....then capitalize on those withouot the holding later in the rounds...he mythodicaly did this to Hatton.....u have to discourage a fighter with a plan and disrupt them...potshots people dont like but when used effectively are great for messing up rhythm and timing...who potshots better than Floyd? Plus couple in the hold after ward or him dipping way below and outta range...they make fighters reset...slows the pace down to Floyds liking....and of course we know Floyd will always back peddal till he gets the space he needs some call it running...lol

Man I can't even start to try to make a pick in this one. Pac just spent all of 2009 proving me wrong, and I am a pure and disrespectful Floyd hater. So WTF!!

when he does put his hand down in the middle of the ring, that means he frustrated of his opponent running in circle.

when he hit both gloves together, that means he got hit and asking for more. "bring it on taunt"

when he raised both hand in the air, that mean i got hit and it hurts.

when he smiles, that means I don't care if you hit and hurt me I'll keep coming

when he covers up against the ropes, that means he's taking a break to figure out a new plan or move

This is a tough fight to predict, based on the fact that Pac keeps proving his nay-sayers wrong and improving with each fight. But if history is any indication, Pac has struggled with one man in particular.

JMM gave Pac fits with his counter-punching style. Floyd is the best counter-puncher in the game today. I would also say Floyd has the best defense of any active fighter. Styles make fights, and Floyd without a doubt holds that stylistic advantage.

Lol. Yeah, Floyd will drop the right hand and then stand there and stare at Pacman like Cotto. Or jump all on top of him with his chin in the air not even showing the simplest regard to defense like Hatton. If Floyd lands the lead right which he will and will often it will Hit Manny and Manny when Manny tries to come back Floyd would either tie him up or roll. This is ****ing Floyd man. He out counter punched JMM with ease. He is going to ****ing school the **** out of Pac.

Mayweather is not swarmer. And Pacquiao dropping his hand is not a flaw like Hatton's. It's a feint. He wants them to react to it and then release his combinations.

The thing about Mayweather is that when he deals with with swarmer like Pacquiao. He tends to shell up and not punch. I watched one of his fight, I believe it was against Corley. Corley was punching so much but Mayweather was just defending not punching. He was stuck on the ropes. Although Mayweather was defending he was getting hit on the body. The punches to the head that was landing was not effective anymore because the guy had slowed down, but Pacquiao does not slow down nor does he lose his punching power during the fight.

Mayweather will get hit on the body and that will hurt him because Pacquiao doesn't slow down during the a fight. He is very very persistent. He doesn't care if he gets hit as long as he lands his shots.

IMO, the shoulder roll is not that effective against a south paw. That's minus one to Mayweather's defense.

    First of all chill.

Pacquiao will jump like Hatton??? Are you saying that Pacquiao is so slow that Mayweather will be able to land that all the shots that he wants. :patsch Yeep he out countered a bloated JMM at 144 which Mayweather came in overweight.

Plus Floyds reach is going to be a pain in the ass for pacquiao. Manny will be surprised at how fast floyd is. To my recollection pacquiao hasnt fought anyone with that type of cat-like speed.

Unlike Pacman...lol Floyd has landed his shots on fast fighters too. Name one ****ing fast fighter that Pacman has fought. Name one slick boxer. :rofl Is that a coincedence. Lets see how Pac reacts when he gets hit with that left hook that is faster and sharper than ANY of his barrage of punches. Lets see what wins the battle pac's new right hook or Floyds left hook. :rofl

Floyd is not the same breed of counterpuncher as marquez. marquez counterpunches in great combinations. what he did against pac was to stare pacquiao in the face wait for him to throw punches then immediately moves his head back just a little only so much as to avoid the punch by a few millimeters then comes back immediately with his own rapid fire of combinations which does not fail to land because of Pacquiao's momentum. That is the way to counterpunch a fast active boxer like pacquiao who fights like a possessed tasmanian devil. On the other hand, Floyd is limited to one or two punches when he counterpunch. usually when he is the pocket or laying on the ropes he allows his opponent to punch themselves out while he does his best to block with his gloves or shoulder or elbow while his head is inclined backward. then he slips a punch or two everytime there is opportunity. That is the way to counterpunch slow and limp-wristed sloppy punchers but not advisable against the likes of Pacquiao who throws power punches in every combination with great speed and unexpected angles. Per Nacho Beristain, JMM's trainer and a closet *******, Pacquiao will beat Mayweather because Mayweather spends a lot of long intervals doing nothing.

Just to make things clear, Im not talking about Manny dropping his hands to lure his opponents in. I really mean before he lets his hands go, he drops both of them down. It is a flaw. Its in his motion. He goes in not protecting for counters up high.
