Wlad will rank well, but I don't think he'll ever surpass Lennox Lewis. Wlad's competition has been way too weak. Wlad has the one of the weakest heavyweight divisions in history while Lewis ruled over one of the strongest Wlad's 3 losses are to much lower caliber guys than Lewis's 2 losses which were both avenged.
H2h also favors the versatile and more rambunctious Lewis, who is basically better at everything (Wlad's got a nicer hook though)

Lewis is a definite top 5 guy. Not sure If Wlad can crack the top 5. We'll see though. If Wlad fights on for many more years breaks Louis's record and Foreman's age record, he'd have a strong top 5 argument.

Pre prime Waldo had a 40-2 record during Lewis's prime years during which some claim to be "the second best era ever" brazebly. Let's look at some of Waldo's wins from that era.

    McCline. World title fight.

Ray Mercer. World title fight over one of the legends of that era. Wlad destroyed him.

Botha. World title fight. This same version was deemed good enough for Lewis to defend his belt against, the apparent 3rd best HW of all time. Waldo destroyed him.

Shuffurd. World title fight. Destroyed him.

    Derrick Jefferson. World title fight

Chris Byrd. World title fight. Elite fighter of the era and has wins over ATG's Vitali and the same version of Holy as Lewis.

    Monte Barrett.

    Bostice.

Paea Wolfgram. Olympic silver medal winning hero.

Phil Jackson. This same version was deemed good enough for Lewis to defend his belt against, the apparent 3rd best HW of all time. Waldo destroyed him.

Alex Schulz. Legend of the era. Robbed blind of wins over several ATG's. Waldo destroyed him and the only man to do so.

He will never be on lists he's fought bums his whole career and illegally hugging them in germany where they allow him to do that illegal stuff, only semi live opponent he's ever had is david haye.

The guy fights illegally doesn't belong on any lists, the one fight he wasn't allowed to hug he looked bad so.......

The alphabet organization's trinkets are MEANINGLESS. The ONLY title that has any significance is the LINEAL title. That's the reason why Lennox Lewis fought Shannon Briggs - in order to win the LINEAL title. Joe Louis' 25 defenses of the LINEAL title FAR surpasses ANYTHING Wlad has done or will do in his career. Period, end of...

Ruddock would have DESTROYED everyone on Wlad's resume. So would have a '99 Holyfield...

Fail at reading comprehension, he said 99" Holyfield not a 3 years later Holyfield after he had already lost to Lewis.

    Epic fail.

Uh, no. Just no, that completely ignores all logic and context. How do you determine the "lineal" champ when the old champ retires? You can't. You go by belts. Each belt is something top fighters go for. Winning gives them a stature, and you need context to determine the better fighter, and even then there's some level of debate involved. Top fighters go for each belt. Technically Louis never had the "lineal" belt by your reasoning, since Tunney has retired. If their had been multiple belts in that horrible period between Tunney and Louis, numerous different contenders would have split the belts between them and Louis would have taken many years to get them all, just like with Wlad. The fact is, Wlad got a credible belt when his current streak started, beat a very credible champ, was arguably already the best of the alphabet champs when acquiring that belt, and then went on to prove it over time. Denying him the record entirely, which you seek to do, instead of simply noting the difference, is totally absurd, logically baseless, and an artifact of the harmful "hater" culture boxing has such a bad history with.

Yes Wlad will place higher. Longer reign, more defenses, never gave up a belt. Fought opponents at their best.

He's not the best in his family, his brother lost the biggest fight of his career to a post prime lewis. Beating fury isn't changing that.

Wlad was never knocked the **** out like Lewis was though.... We can discount the McCall fight as a meaningful revenge... I think you know why. But yeah, he got Rahman as good as you can get. That's as good of a revenge KO as you're going to see in boxing...

Wlad might be able to surpass Lennox just based on longevity if he keeps it up, i'd say he's behind but closing in.

That version of Holy was coming into the fight off a stoppage win over Hasim Rahman leaving 'The Rock' with one of the sports most horrific injuries. Holy was 'The Real Deal coming into the Byrd fight. Let's not forget that same version of Rahman had brutally destroyed the 3rd greatest HW of all time barely a year before.
