When and why was the cruiserweight limit moved from 190 to 200 lbs?

Mormeck is a small cruiser. He is also a natural LHW and he fought at middle as an amateur. He came at cruiser cause he would have never obtained a chance at LHW. The only french promoter Acaries had the WBA titleholder Girard under contract and he wanted to protect his belt, Mormeck had refused to sign with Acaries and he was a big threat... Mormeck would have destroyed Bruno Girard imo and he would have been a very decent LHW titleholder. Mormeck vs Adamek, Mormeck vs Tarver or Mormeck vs G.Johnson etc. would have been good fights.

 

I remember it happened no long after Roy Jones Jr. , 193, beat John Ruiz, 226, for the WBA heavyweight championship.

 

They should've kept it at 190, as far as I'm concerned.
