He knocked him down several times. It wasn’t just because of a haymaker. He severely put hands on that dude.

3 good wins on his resume now.

What i'm saying is that a fighters physique is meaningless, it's his ability that matters.

I agree that physique isn't the end all be all. However in his particular case, his physique is a symptom and ultimately the result of his attitude towards his craft, it bleeds into some of his outcomes

So he lost a fight against a guy he was always supposed to lose to, and it’s bled into his outcomes? Wth?

Same with Fury, he almost lost because of it 3rd time. Don't say it was becuase of his daughter in hospital, he should have kept his fatass in shape.

Yeah. Wlad got dropped then put Joshua down and had him badly hurt. Ruiz did too. The difference is that Ruiz capitalised (albeit after two rounds of letting Joshua off the hook, probably because Ruiz needed a rest but he didn't give Joshua 5 rounds off the hook like Wlad, trying to win a decision in London). Joshua also fought Povetkin less than 9 months prior, who would go on to get some of his best results post-Joshua and Joshua beat Povetkin in 7, whereas Ruiz stopped Joshua in 7.

Ruiz has been disrespected his whole career and he's made it work for him. Being extremely easy to underestimate and immensely humiliating to lose to are great advantages. If Joshua and his team had taken Ruiz as seriously as they did Parker, does Ruiz win? There's a high chance that he doesn't. And even post-Joshua when it's known that Ruiz is tough and dangerous in an exchange, what does 43 year old Ortiz do? Charge in and get put down in the 2nd round, officially twice. So there's a huge uphill battle at the start for Ortiz and Ruiz maintains that lead for the remaining 10 rounds against a taller skilled southpaw puncher. There are invisible psychological hurdles when you fight Ruiz and no one has beaten him by any clear margin while he's in shape (by his standards). Joshua didn't even hurt Ruiz when he was at least 16 lbs heavier than he should have been and by all accounts semi-untrained.

This suggests that if Wilder underestimates Ruiz and is too eager to go for the KO, Ruiz has the ability to do damage with counters. For Wilder to win fairly easily he has to fight an intelligent fight. But I see him wanting to make a statement and not go the distance with the "little fat Mexican". If he beats Wilder there will still be many who say "he got lucky again". Ruiz might be the most easy to underestimate titlist of all time.

Yes, He is a public figure who acts like an idiot in public. His lack of intelligence was on display for Joshua 2 and usually when he opens his mouth.

Did I denote wins or losses in what I typed? I said "outcomes" , that's plural. Multiple fights...............he has a track record in both winning performances and losing ones. So yes it most assuredly does "bleed" into his outcomes

I thought Ruiz beat Parker handily and overall deserves more respect. My main complaint is his inactivity, though it’s not unique to him. He doesn’t have many years left and better get moving.

If you have followed boxing long enough you know that many boxing fans have literally NO understanding of the distinction between being "in shape" (which these rocket scientists seem to think is indicated by a fighter having muscle definition and a "six pack") and being IN BOXING SHAPE, a concept they simply can't seem to grasp.

People will start respecting him when he starts respecting himself.

Buffets, drugs, hookers and gaslighting are not hobbies of respectable professional boxer.
