With a little over 7 weeks remaining to fight night, when will they start to push this fight, it’s already a tough one to sell but both of their social media’s are ghost towns, no interviews, TV appearances or promotion anywhere...John Fury has doubts the fight will even happen and I’m not someone who believes much of what he comes out with but it is alittle bizarre, has the whole fight card been confirmed yet? And when are the press conferences likely to happen? thanks
I hate to agree with the eye gouging thug John Fury but for once he may be right. I'm not convinced this fight will happen.
There is not much to promote about this night of shame . https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.da...-Usyk-terrified-rejected-lot-money-fight.html
Currently, there's nothing for 26th August booked on Wroclaw Stadium's calendar: Calendar – Tarczyński Arena Wrocław (tarczynskiarenawroclaw.pl). Let's say there is still some time, but the date is getting closer already and the event doesn't seem finalized.
USKY only wants shot old men and gun shy bums at heavy. Dubois doesn’t fit the bill so expect the feather fisted midget to DUCK DDD like he DUCKED Fury. Etc.
There is also nothing on that calendar after Aug 4th at all. Nothing in September, October, November, etc. I'd be worried if other events were filled in, around the Aug 26th weekend, but maybe check back in a few weeks when they update their calendar
I looked into this a little more. So Usyk and Krassyuk appeared on the RingPolska.pl Youtube channel promoting the fight last month. I gather that was probably the press conference when the planned fight was being announced following the purse bids. Since then, they have had a steady drip of news the last few weeks following Usyk preparing in camp, etc. @AK47M The RingPolska.pl website had a new article yesterday (July 4th) saying the fight should be officially announced in the next week.
Pointless fight doesn’t warrant much promotion. It’s a pure mando and that’s it. Usyk should have dropped that belt and fought Wilder for much more money.
I agree. I think you have been pushing for Wilder, and that is the best possible fight for him, but I think he wants to retain the belts by doing his mandos. Hopefully, Dubois in August, Hrgovic in December like Hearn says, and Wilder April next year. The Fury fight will never happen under any circumstances, and I think we all know that now.
That's the part that drives me crazy. The *only* value this belt has to Usyk is to keep the undisputed alive, but Fury has behaved in bad faith and Usyk owes him no favors. IMO, Usyk is too old to be taking low money mandatory fights. If Fury wants to fight for the undisputed, let him go and unify the WBA and then challenge Usyk. There isn't going to be a long undisputed run, regardless. Usyk is near retirement and even on the off chance Fury fought Usyk and won, he won't bother with his mandos. The belts will fragment as they always do, and to me that's okay. I'd rather see big fights among these guys while there's still time.
I'd like to see him fight Zhang as well. I almost said this in the Usyk-Wilder Prime fight thread, but I actually see Zhang having a better chance than Wilder. Wilder has incredible power but a limited arsenal and he telegraphs the hell out of what he does have. Not to say he wouldn't land at all on Usyk, but I feel like it would take more than just one or two big punches to get him down, and Usyk would be able to avoid letting it happen as often as it needed to. Zhang, on the other hand, is a sneaky puncher with power in both hands who throws deceptively fast punches. Not to say I think Zhang would definitely be able to do that, because I believe if they ever fought Usyk would most likely win without ever hitting the canvas. I'm just saying I'd personally give him a better chance of knocking Usyk down because he's also a big puncher but with more tools at his disposal. I'd even prefer it to Wilder for that reason, of course being a big fan of both also plays a big part in that too. Not a popular fight but one I'd personally love to see. Would be more than happy for either to happen though, and both would be just ****ing excellent. I wouldn't wanna hear any questions about Usyk's chin if he beats both of them, that's for sure
