    Isn't Rigo retired?

He actually fought this year, and in The Monster's division to boot. Didn't impress anyone though.

Rigo is not a volume puncher or reflex defensive boxer, he boxed using his wisdom and deadly counters, like Hopkins, JMM and Toney his career just started, nothing changed from his prime until now, except he will be fighting at his best weight. So at 118 he is entering his true prime, at the higher weights he was fighting at a big disadvantage.

Let´s be honest, his prime is behind him. He should have competed at 115 in the first half of his career(as he was barely over 122 on fight night).
One thing that gives fighters longevity, is not having to make weight. So he should have moved up in weight eventually, but IMO Rigo made a big mistake starting his career at 122.

Would have been a great fight against a prime Rigo. Don't know about now. Wouldn't want to see Rigo in the ring with that guy!

Rigo is the WBA (regular) Bantamweight champion and Inoue the WBA (super) Bantamweight champion

Because that would be a serious legacy fight for both of them. I feel like Rigo never gets the credit he deserves, and a fight with Inoue would give him a whole lot more, if its competitive. Inoue needs more recognizable names on his record, and Rigo is that guy. It would be a great measuring stick for Inoue. With Nonito he got a lil' tested, but with El Chacal he might get bested!

Also a great fight, because Rigo will be physically very strong. Its been over an year at Bantamweight and his power is peaked. Inoue is smart enough to understand he can't outbox Rigo, so will come at Rigo forcing a KO outcome.

    • If Rigo wins he is an ATG
    • If Inoue wins he is an ATG

Theres a lot of fights Id prefer Inoue to be in to this one. Rigo will just make it a snoozefest where neither come away looking good from it.

    Inoue could fight:

    Casimero
    Ooubali
    Cuadras
Any of Estrada/Gonzalez/Srisaket if they fancy moving up for it.
    Nery
    Vargas
    Akhmadaliev
    Fulton
    Castro
    Iwassa

All.better fights in and around the division.
