Title fights would always be on Grandstand or World of Sport on Saturday afternoons. Great times.

Quarry would have definitely been a title holder, had he come along later. So too might Shavers and Lyle. Jimmy Young, certainly.

Even though i wasn't born i'd have to say the 70's with the Likes of Ali, Foreman, Frazier and Norton to name but a few going at it

I really find the 70's lacking on film. Outside of Monzon and Duran, it doesn't impress me. The heavies, in particular, as so very overrated it boggles the sensibilities. Nostalgia is a great influence, me thinks.

I'd like to go back to the days when boxing shows were commonplace, weekly small hall boxing at affordable prices.
Before the TV era, I guess.

Sends a shiver right through you. When Ali was fighting,I used to set my alarm clock for the small hours, and listen to the fights on my radio.
