That it was because he didn't train properly. Cotto himself isn't making excuses so Cotto's fans shouldn't either.

Cotto is one of my favorite fighters and should he lose there are no excuses. Clottey was the better man.

But should Cotto win, i dont want to hear people discredit his victory such as:

"He vacated his title so Cotto yet again doesnt beat a reigning champ."
"Clottey had almost a full year off."
"Clottey was always overrated and lost to the Plaster Boy and Baldomir."

Clottey was DQ against Baldomir. He was winning the fight before that on score card. Clottey will win too :yep

    :good

    1) The only people saying Clottey is overrated are the Cotto backers (for the most part)
    2) Bringing up the DQ to Baldomir is like bringing up Griffin-Jones Jr. 1, He was ahead on all cards.

    ..

The injury was fake of course. It was all an acting hype job because he is actually a coward.

its just that you know you'll always get the people that mess up your day by saying ignorant ****. Clottey is game and this is not an easy fight but Cotto still gets the UD at the end of the night. :yep

Why would Cotto make excuses? it would only make him look vulnerable. However, I do think it's legitimate to question Cotto's preparations for this fight after firing his long time trainer/uncle just before starting training camp. He'll now be trained by his nutritionist as far as I'm concerned and the truth is I don't know how that will play out. But don't worry, you wont hear me say it was because of the Evangelista incident Cotto lost (if he does indeed lose) to Clottey. Cotto is a professional and he's responsible for his actions, therefor he's fighting Joshua on even playing fields and nothing should be taken away from the winner...>>Cotto:yep

Whoever wins this fight should get good credit for it.

You wont hear a damn thing if Cotto cant beat a guy like Clottey then....he is done as an elite fighter and should start thinking about retirement and setting himself up financially with the few fights his name can still attract. I will still ardently root for the man but reality is reality and unlike many around here I refuse to nuthug.

But his fans do enough of that for him.

There will be a sh*t load of excuses should he lose to Clottey. I for one think that this fight is too early for Cotto. Clottey is a guy like Margo that isnt going to stop coming. He is going to bang and bang and bang on Cotto's body, and really test his balls and will. Im just not sure that a fight with Jennings will boost Cotto's confidence enough to get him though that kind of tough fight.

im a huge cotto fan. when marg beat him down ill admit i was sad but crushed that he went out on his shield rather then quitting on his stool. what i dont like is when people say he quit and bitched out against manos de plaster. watch me get some negative feedback from this statement.
