When did Amir Khan became past his prime and PAC shot?

Could be or it could be that now he is just smarter and less desperate and tbf he didn't exactly face a huge number of dangerous punchers before.

Khan has always been the kind of fighter who can look great against some opponents and terrible against others. Don't get me wrong though I would be surprised if he wasn't at least a little past prime after getting brutally stopped for the third time.

 

He looked vintage pac in the 4th marquez fight before the knockout.

Yep that for me was the last prime pac fight. The marquez 4th fight was amazing but i dont think he would have been able to sustain that level of aggression going into the later rounds

 

Khan has a style that doesn't age well. He relies heavily on his speed. He's already 30, and he's been knocked out 3 times. Once his speed fades, he's getting knocked out more often.

 

It's not his speed which stops him being knocked out it's his choice of opponents. A crude version of Maidana and an old shot Judah aside he's never beaten anyone that can punch. If he'd fought Thurman, Brook, Porter, Pac at welterweight I have no doubt he'd have another 4 KO losses on his record.

 

'Crude version of Maidana' was still in the at-or-near prime category. Judah was not shot, he went on to still achieve good things and it was a complete domination. Sugar 88, in the context of Khan, you've done nothing but present a biased, negative case and discredit just about everything.

Khan wanted paydays as he lost his love for the sport, whilst also seeking a fight with Mayweather so didn't want to take on incredibly high risk fights. Khan who was once motivated was a daredevil.

Hard to pin point these things sometimes because fighters are and have been capable of bouncing back after poor performances. I thought Khan was completely done after turning in what I believed to be a poor performance against Algieri (in a winning effort), and in his very next fight performed well against Canelo (in a knockout losing defeat).

 

I get your point but I personably thought Khan performed far better than expected against Canelo and thought Brook fought more/less the fight he was expected to against GGG. I didn't see Khan escaping round 2 without getting caught with a night ending left hook.
