When Did Boxers Start Using Ring Entrance Music?

    late 1970's early 1980's?

    I have seen some fights where they are using it Larry Holmes is probably the earliest I have seen with "ain't no stoppin us now" in the late 1970's.

    anyone know?

    Earliest reference to music ever being associated with an entrance that I know of was the Jeffries/Johnson bout held on the 4th of July. The band was playing 'All Coons Look Alike To Me' when Johnson's turn to enter the ring came.
