Devon won the title fairly and legitimately. Did he fail to pay a fee or something? I must have missed when and how it happened. Could someone please fill me in?

Don't know if he did get stripped... Maybe it's just not on the line!?
More strange things about that fight; If bradley wins (wich I think he will) he doesn't get the WBC belt! :huh

  3. It got stripped when he didn't want to defend against the mandatory Kaizer Mabuza.

Mabuza and my boy Zab are going to fight for the vacant IBF belt.

From what I heard he needed to pay a ammount of money when he beat akexander so he would get the belt.
He choose not to. I think its stupid and that those organizations try to keep fighters from unifying.

Alexander got stripped because he's not fighting his mandatory Mabuza.

The WBC belt is not on the line for Bradley because he refused to pay sanctionining fees for it.

Yeah, it seems they try and keep everything in their own organization. It really is terrible for boxing. If Devon wasn't stripped and the WBC was on the line, then the winner of this fight vs. Khan would be for all of the major titles.

Its more of a grudge thing between Bradley and the WBC than it is about money. From when the WBC stripped him right after unifying with Holt last year. Afterall he did pay their sanctioning fees for the times he fought Witter, Cherry and Campbell.

You're not going to believe it.

Because the WBC doesnt want to be unified with the WBO. They gave Bradley an ultimatum to choose which belt to keep and he chose the WBO.

This must be a recent thing. Because five years ago, Corrales unified the WBC and the WBO by beating Castillo.

Yeah, it sucks balls. I dont think we'll ever see a champion that can unify all 4 titles again.

    Sulaiman's own words:

"Bradley's representatives called to say they want to keep the WBO title. But we approved the fight with the condition that the winner would have fifteen days to determine what title to keep. Because of the way things have gone with unified titles, organizations lose all authority. So I'm not in agreement with that."

Technically Bradley did unify both the WBC and WBO but had to choose one to keep after unifying. Im not sure about Corrales/Castillo though, Chico did unify but im not sure if he had to choose one to keep afterwards like Bradley.

nothing to do with money. he chose to fight Kotelnik instead of his mandatory Mabuza. Then he arranged the Bradley fight. Not fair on mabuza who would of been mandatory for over a year by the time the fight happened.
