Chambers would beat Chris Byrd. All the Byrdies think Lennox Lewis not fighting Byrd is a stain on his legacy. He was the original strain of Usykism.

 

How did each do against Povetkin?

(Yes, Byrd was slipping by then…but come on.)

 

Another unpopular opinion of mine. I would pick Brock to beat Byrd as well. I consider Brock to be better H2H albeit by fairly small margin.

I see the small Americans of the period as Chambers/Brock/Byrd.

 

Brock outperformed Byrd against McCline in the same year. Chambers outperformed Byrd against Povetkin. Chambers fought Povetkin instead of Byrd because Byrd lost. Chambers beat Brock.

Brock would be a narrow underdog against Byrd and Chambers would be about even money.

Precinct 13 was the first movie I caught on widescreen in 1995. I remember widescreen was originally called Letterbox back then and it really captured a larger than life structure lost on the tv.

Carpenter was a genius.

 

Byrd struggled against lower level HWs in an easier era then they did IMO. Byrd has a bigger body of work for sure. But that body of work doesn't prove hes better. He just did more during his career.
