His decline has been steady and slow. He still had some pop in his punches against Cotto and even stunned him in 12. It's really hard to pick a fight though because it's such a slow decline. He was more offensive in 2005 as opposed to 2006, and even more defensive when his uncle started training him. The older he gets the more defensive he gets. I noticed he lost all his "pop" or offensive prowess once Roger started training him. But I think that has more to do with his trainer.

Physically, I think his prime passed probably around the Cotto fight. But his experience allowed him to make the right adjustments. His decline is much more apparent now though, especially vs Maidana.

After the Marquez fight. When he stopped using that leaping left hook, his prime was officially waning.

Fortunately for him, even past his absolute peak, Floyd is still levels above the rest.

I think the Thurman-Collazo fight showed Floyd has nothing to worry about with the rest of the WW division.

I think he looked like he slipped a little when he fought Ortiz

I'm sorry bro, but you do realize that almost every one of his knockouts was with Roger training him. Roger was his trainer when he started his pro career. Roger was his trainer for Corrales possibly his best offensive fight ever.

His most optimal weight class to me was 135.

I thought that he slipped after the Hatton fight.

The decline was extremely slow until the maidana fight where it looked like he wasn't Floyd anymore.

IMO his last prime fight was JMM he looked very sharp in that fight still had all of his reflexes. That without a doubt was his last fully prime fight after that fight his hands looked slower he got hit more his counter punching hasn't been as good and his feet have been noticeably slower.

PBF has been past his prime since JMM if you know what you're looking at it's very easy to see.:deal He's still good but far from prime that was back in 2009.

PBF's absolute prime is JMM, the young Floyd was more offensively minded and perhaps a bit physically superior but I think his peak was in that fight, the best mix of technique and athleticism.

I think maybe Ortiz fight is when he started showing some noticeable decline.

You beat me to it, Floyd has still been great considering but that fight effectively ended his prime. He wasn't quite the same after the comeback.
