He became a world beater when GGG gathered a group of mentally ill people to support him. Hell I've seen threads and comments about Rubio being HOF quality when GGG got to him. Oh, and the Ouma win ranks high up there with Ali vs Foreman and Leonard vs Hagler.

Id favor Lara to spank most of the MW division. There isn't anyone as skilled as Lara at 160.

154 looks like a talent pool compared to MW.

Yeah other than Korobov, Golovkin, Saunders, Jacobs, Blanco, Derevyanchenko, N'Dam, Castano, Soro to name a few.

And Golovkin, and Jacobs are the most recognizable fighters on that list. The others are unknown to casuals and even some hardcore fans out there.:deal

But it doesn't make them any less skilled.:deal Ioka, Inoue, Estrada and Menayothin are just as skilled as Lara f not more, and no one knows who they are either.

Lara is more appealing because of his fights against Canelo and Angulo. It is what it is.

Lara is more proven than all those guys.

You can say whatever you want about fighter's skillset or lack of, but at the end of the day you prove your quality when you showcase your skills against top opposition.

You're only just better than your most skilled opponent. Yes you can get hyped, and you can show great potential, and even look extraordinary, but you only validate your worth when you fight top opposition.

How many times have we seen fighters get hyped and as soon as they step up in quality they do not deliver.

He's appealing to no one but fanboys on here, but like you said he's well known in spite of that. That being said I badly want Lara to go to MW because he'll be slaughtered there.:nod

And the way he handled Paul Williams. Paul Williams was a high volume strong puncher who was bigger than Lara.

Why do you think Lara would get slaughtered at MW?

He's had far too many close calls already at LMW, he's struggled against Canelo, Angulo, Molina and Vanesx2. The guys I mentioned above are all a few levels above most of them skillwise, not to mention they're bigger and in all probability hit harder. They just happen to have the misfortune of being less famous than Lara.

Let's not act like Williams didn' struggle with southpaw mightily Quintana and Martinez laid the blue print he just copied it on Williams when he was coming off of a war and one of the most brutal KO's in recent memory.
