There was an interview with PBF on Eurosport (not long after he beat Gatti) and he was being asked about Ricky Hatton. After Floyd had correctly dissed Hatton skills as a boxer he was asked about other british fighters that he had seen, he picked out Calzaghe and being the fastest and smartest boxer "behind myself" in the word today.

 

I remember reading it on espn or something, where he said Joe was P4P number two, but I wouldn't mind someone giving us the article again, its been a while since I read that. He probably just appreciated someone who's boxing skills where close to his.

 

No that was like 4 weeks ago he said that I am talking 2 years or so ago

 

After the Lacy fight Floyd said Calzaghe was "the truth"

 

It was more to the fact , Floyd was ask what does he think about fighting one Manchester's finest , which floyd responded "Im not fighting Manchester's finest I'm fighting Ricky Hatton , Joe Calzaghe is Manchester's finest Boxer."

Calzaghe's a beast - but I doubt if Floyd said he's the best he's ever see.

Calling him #2 on the P4P List - coming from the #1 Guy is a compliment.

 

Calzaghe is the best boxer in Europe. And P4P number 2 in the world. Nobody in the world today, comes anywhere near PBF or Calzaghe, thats a fact.
