Mayweather started declining as soon as he moved to welterweight. He declined Marg, he declined William's, he even declined Hatton at first, and he declined Pacquiao for five years.
Not a big Mayweather fan but from what I've seen, he hasn't yet. Always capable of doing enough and stepping up to each challenge.
the first maidana fight. the second fight just confirmed he had lost that fraction of a second that made him elite. thats why he finally decided to cash out the pac fight and fought with so little confidence against pac, who he knew was injured. he now knows hes done at top level and plays it safe against a berto in his last real fight and retires. now he only fights circus fights.
Never really saw much of a decline. Maidana just had the right style to give Floyd problems much like salido against loma
I believe after the sharmba Mitchell fight. They were telling"whoop that trick, get em!" He started to use his legs more and also put up some boring fights
Yeah I agree. He continues to be healthy because he didn't get hit too much in most of his fights in the past.
I completely agree. Mayweather didn't really fight or box Pacquiao. It was as ugliest of a fight contest Mayweather has ever been in. It was literally like watching John Ruiz trying his darnest to limit a fight or boxing match breaking out. Clutch after Clutch after clutch, Mayweather made certain punching from both sides was kept to a minimum. We all know why John Ruiz had to clutch and hold against good opposition, he didn't have much boxing skill. But why did Mayweather have to resort to such tactics vs Pacquiao??? The only answer to me is that he's lost quickness, speed, and reflexes. To attempt to try and outbox Paquiao straight up without constantly cluthing and grabbing Pacquiao to the point the ref has to step in to break them up, would mean Mayweather would have gotten hit more often by Pacquiao than he wanted to. The McGregor fiasco confirmed Mayweather isn't an elite fighter any longer, a man who had never boxed before took rounds from him, I don't think I need to say more.
5 years of ducking Pac before he gathered his balls and you think he's actually gonna do anything other than spoil?
