Towards the end of his relationship with Futch.
He wasnt managing his weight or putting the work in which is why Futch left. For those too young to remember Futch stated Bowe had the tools to be the best HW up to that point. Quite a statement and compliment.
As an edit Bowe stated many times his goal was to become HWC. Once accomplish his desire was never the same.

bowe was slurring his words badly BEFORE golota 1. so there you go. three fights with (relatively) young holyfield wrecked his system (first bowe fight, holyfield was 30 yrs old).

I didn't know that, and that's terrible. I was heartbroken to see the beating Bowe caught against Golota 2 (and enraged at the referee, who might have been up to nearly two rounds late stopping that fight imo). It's pretty apparent Bowe was out of there way before it was stopped...

Bowe should have kicked the dogsnot out of Golota, look what happened to the latter after. To me 2 was the most obvious sign of decline. I thought he looked pretty damn good against Hide.

I must say, I keep an eye on my True School subscription because I love to hear Evander and Bowe talking with everybody. Great videos imo.

These days there's something lovable about the friendship between Evander and Riddick imo. I really like those guys!!!

His skills started to decline right along with his dedication to training after becoming champion. The decline was generally slow and steady, but it was there.

I read that line and immediately thought of the Golota fights. Sick mind I know.
