    He's not a big middleweight

    maybe an average JMW even

I wouldn't say he's smaller than Margarito, he has a inch advantage, and then a 3-inch reach disadvantage and an actual MW at this point. That's like saying Margarito is bigger than Tyson who's only 5'11 71'' reach

He has always been a small Middle Weight and perfect at Jr. Middle weight the only reason he moved up is because he needed bigger challenges.

The only reason people say he is a big middle weight is because the *******s want to say this so no one can claim Martinez is just one weight class above you were you have won a title Armstrong would be ashamed :hey

Pac won a title at 154, if Martinez can make it there to 154 PAC should have no problem facing him... if he really wants to call himself a P4P king or surrender it to Martinez. Or do you guys all agree Margarito was a BS fight against an Inanctive guy coming off a KO and lackluster performance... IDK maybe Pac is just Legend . LMAO

People are idiots in general. Nothing new here.

As stated earlier by several people: the guy has barely been out of junior middle for a couple of fights and people are already asking him to move up to super middle. Martinez is NOT a big middleweight.

    Ridiculous.

He's not a big MW but not a small one either. His camp said they found it very hard to make his catchweight fight with PW which was at 158 I believe.

If he comes in 170 on fight night, Pac comes in 149 on fight night, does that really seem like a fair fight guys? If anything, a fight with guys like Ward would be more fair, those guys would only have 10lbs on him.

Other than Michigan Warrior, noone is.

He is a legit middleweight now, and from the looks of it, a pretty strong one too. On fight night, he weighs 168 pounds.

Lol...bottom line the man can make 154, Pac has no problem claiming a "title" in this division, he has no problem proclaiming he's "made history", there should be no problem with defending his "title" against the guy who had to vacate it to get a decent fight. 154 isn't too big for either PBF or Manny, and if Martinez can make the weight they should fight him simple and plain. You see this same phenomenon happening with Paul Williams, I had a dude telling me yesterday that "he's a MW calling out WW's", he's literally had 2 fights at MW. Now that he is calling Manny or PBF out, can't be discredited with the "he hasn't earned it" stuff, it's he's "too big" and the same for Martinez. Williams and Martinez have done their part in terms of "earning" big fights, it's time that Manny/PBF if they aren't going to fight each other pass the ****ing torch and let these guys get their shots. Margarito, JMM, Cotto, SSM, I mean GTFOH, I like all those guys fine, but there isn't one who isn't past their best days, and none with the exception of JMM who has EARNED anything of late.

    :deal

The truth is people, Sergio Martinez became a 'big middleweight', when he became a threat to Manny Pacquiao.

When it looked like he could be a possible Pac-weather opponent. His legions of fans went on a massive offensive to convince the masses he was a natural super-middle weight.

First of all, Pac has never bragged about being this 8-division champ. He just fights who he’s told to fight, and kicks ass. Second, no one here even gives a **** about the crappy title he won against Margarito, and by the looks of it, neither does he (since he gave it up). Third, Roach made it clear after the Margarito fight, that Pac doesn’t belong anywhere above 147, and that from now on, all of Pac’s fights will be at welterweight.

Conclusion – Pac is a small welterweight who, on fight night, manages to weigh one ****ing pound above his weight limit. He’s never been heavier than 148 in his life! Martinez, on the other hand, walks in the ring at 168 – that’s eight pounds, or one whole division above his current weight division.

So those who say..... “If Martinez is too small to fight the super middleweights, then Pac is too small to fight Martinez”......are not wrong!

Martinez became a legit middleweight when his team opposed Williams' demands of meeting at a catchweight of 157, saying it would be difficult for them to make it.

he should be fighting at 160 but being that the competition at 160 blows, he should move up to 168 in a year or so, thats what most people have been saying. If he wants to fight at 154 fine but it might be harder for him to make weight now that he is at high 150s and 160 now.

and **** this manny pacquiao bull****, pac is a natural junior welter, can't even ko most welterweights and the people who bring up margarito well, margarito is a slow moving fighter anyone can beat margarito now, he is spent. Martinez is way too big for him and floyd too probably.

Why is it that fighters whine and say they are too small when they have been knocking guys out that have fought at 154 most of their careers. Fight the guys in your weight class if you have cleaned out the competition move up in weight not down, that is kinda a ***** move.
