When Did The "Every Fight Has To Be A Big Fight" Craze Begin?

    I'll give you the only logical answer. This started happening when fighters started fighting only 2-3 times per year. When all you do is that many, and make each one a PPV or a headline, and start demand the big bucks, people start expecting to get their money's worth out of each of your fights.

    Kalule beat Kalambay. you probably think Kalambay is a bum but he defeated Barkley and McCallum back to back and went on to beat Steve Collins. Kalule was no bum

    Bonavena and Quarry were definitely not weak competition especially coming off a 3 year suspension

    you make a good point but some of your examples are dumb

    It evolved from Floyd and his whole mantra of PPV defines the sport. Then you have *****s talking up PPV numbers and measuring fighters and fights by that metric.

    And ya wonder how you got here?

    Weren't both in the top 10? Fighters took more losses back then. Fact.
