I don't recall Arum giving one of his blown up figures for that one. Maybe he didn't want to use too much sugar on that dog turd. I could be wrong though. My interweb sleuthing capabilities are limited when I'm on my ship.

I don't remember. But I think he said Pac-Hatton was tracking better than Pac-DLH, and Pac-Cotto was going to be 1.5+ ?

What is Arum's estimate? Just subtract 1.5M from that if over a mil, subtract 100k if under.

Arum was voicing Pac-Hatton did outrageous ammount of buys.......he got a dose of reality and a day or so later downgraded his numbers but did'nt want to realease them.
GBP who co-promoted Pac-Hatton ended up making the numbers public to the ire of "honest" Bob Arum.

After saying that Pac-Hatton had done something over 1.5 million, it turned out it did just under 900K.

Over at the scene, Arum is voicing the possibility that Marquez-Pacquiao may wind up on HBO.......

......something about the crew who he thinks best can promote the fight will televise the PPV.

.....if this is the case, its almost a given that Arum was lying through his teeth about Pacquiao-Mosley having surpassed Pacquiao's DLH numbers.

If Arum is thinking about switching back to HBO, he must not have been happy with the promotion and PPV buyrate with Showtime.

well the problem is more people have HBO than they do Showtime, so if the numbers are low that might be the reason. Only time will tell.

Subscribing to HBO or Showtime does'nt matter when purchasing a PPV fight.
You dont have to have either to purchase a PPV.

True that. However, promotional exposure on either network is a big factor when ordering PPVs.

I dont think its as big a factor as you might think......

......the media both TV and print through news sources play more of a role than than either HBO or Showtime who are primarily movie channels.

you wont hear any numbers no matter how big they are...because it will show just how many people they ripped with a **** match up they tried to pass off as competitive
