...to hurt your opponent in a bout, early or late? Catch them cold, or catch them when they are tired... (I guess it depends on each individual boxer, but if you were a boxer...which option would you go for?)
When the opportunity presents itself. Some people just make the same mistakes over and over. That is why I recommend film watching to catch the mistakes fighters make
Thats' tough because if your hurt him early your try to capitalize on it ..Im sure most fighters love an early night .
Nice avatar. It's probably most effective late in a fight, when the opponent is tired and fatigued so therefore more susceptible to being hurt or going down. Obviously it is harder to hurt a fresher opponent early on in a fight, but it can be useful. Hurting an opponent early on disrupts they're gameplan, shakes them, and makes them more wary of the oppositions power. But the physical effect it has on them is likely to be lesser than the mental one. Tough question, but if I was a fighter I would rather catch em' late in a bout. They'd be tired, off balance, and not have long to respond or figure a way out, so knocking them out would be easier.
Depends on your style. If you're the kind of fighter who beats a guy down with bodyshots and relentless pressure a la Joe Frazier or Henry Armstrong then late is brilliant. He'll be exhausted, won't be able to defend himself as a result and you'll be getting stronger and stronger. If you're a one punch ko kind of guy it doesn't really matter. If you have crap stamina then early. There really are so many variables as it also depends on your opponent and his style. You would want to catch Frazier early for example.
For me it has to be early on, that way you can look sensational dishing out your best combinations without using too much lung effort. That said it entirely depends on the fighter
If you hurt them early, you can always hurt them again later. The only negative to hurting a guy early is if you get over confident and forget about strategy and technique, but if you are a well schooled fighter, that should not happen.
You have to study the fighter. Some are more dangerous when hurt and following up might land you on your back.
