We know that he's the mw interim WBC champion , so he will probably be the mandatory challenger for the WBC mw champion. :yep

I think that boxing politics will somehow find a way to not make a fight between GGG and the lineal champ.

The MW's are imo the division that suffers most in terms of cold war between the TV stations, promoters, lawyers etc. in whole boxing, there are so many potential fights that are not being made.

He might never even get it.
There's no doubt he's the best MW out there at the moment, but that doesn't say much anymore. It's about who gets the chance to beat the linear champ, and GGG is probably just to good to get that chance.

IDK... It'll happen if the money's right. That's just the BS side of high profile boxing. Guys can just fight each other when there ain't $millions involved but when decent money becomes involved matching becomes difficult.

All depends if the lineal champion will be brave enough to fight him

Lineal titles are worthless if you don't defend it against the best.

The MW lineal "title" lost its meaning when Martinez refused to fight GGG.
As soon as that happened, GGG was the man in the division.
Refusing to fight the biggest challenges out there and keeping hold of "titles" is a chicken-**** move.
either drop the titles, or vacate them.

Cotto refusing to fight GGG means Cotto even recognises GGG is the man at MW.
When a Champion conceded defeat before any fight, he drops the privilege of "title" holder.
Those guys are just paper champions.

Lineal titles are not meaning less dude. yes Martinez should have fought GGG but he didnt and try to pick on smaller Cotto who beat the living **** out of him. thats his bad.

GGG will get his shot, but will he win......

Cotto beat the **** out of a crippled Martinez.
    That victory is meaningless.

Cotto never even had a fight at MW before being given that shot at the title.
Looks like Canelo will be given the same route.
If they fight over the "lineal" belt, neither are the man at 160

Roach said as soon as Cotto won, the GGG fight needs to happen at catchweight hahah
If that's not conceding the title I don't know what is.

GGG has to go down in weight(from his natural weight-class) just to fight for that paper "lineal" title?
That's a chicken-**** move by a desperate trainer.

GGG doesn't need the "lineal" title to be the guy at 160

I will be very surprised if Cotto steps in the ring with Golovkin.

But I will not blame him.
Why step in the ring with such a monster ?
There is about zero chance of winning. Not even a punchers chance.
