I was realy looking forward to his fight with Dawson but I heard he got injured.

This is the one guy that has brought me back to watching boxing.

I was flipping channels and saw his fight live against Doyle (is that how you spell it?).

I have realy been looking forward to watching him fight again but no news on him.

Does anyone even know this boxer? I think he will knock out dawson by the 4th round.

He was injured and now he is looking to get his shot at Dawson again. Dawson is trying to avoid that fight in order to fight Tarver. The WBC gave Dawson until January 26 (I think) to make a voluntary title defense. Then he will need to fight Diaconu in April or he will get striped of his title.

Dawson was ordered to fight him before April 25th or the WBC strips him of his belt.

Diaconu might not have recovered by January.

You make it sound so easy. Professional boxing is about money, and promoters are not in the business of losing money. Boxing is a high risk business because most boxers don't draw much of a crowd. Neither Dawson nor Diaconu have much of an established fan base. You can snap your fingers and say that they should fight in January, but I don't see you commiting resources to promote the fight. If it goes to a purse bid, you can bid on it too!

Yeah thats it. Rick Hoye. I thought Rick was an ok fighter but Diaconu destroyed him.

If any of you watched old fights of Marciano you may see a striking resembelance to Diaconu.

    Thanks for the replies.

I dont know about the rest of you but I would much rather see Dawson vs Diaconu than Tarver. Never been a big fan of Tarver.

Well emm you see promoters were interessed in the last purse bid beetween the two so i don't see why the fight couldn't take place in January. Plus, theres rumors that Interbox have a good contract and TV deal for a card with Bute-?? and Diaconu-Dawson on it.

Depends on what you mean by talent.

Diaconu does not have good boxing skill imo. Not that I have seen.

But what he does have is hand speed and very good power with both hands.

But what struck me most about him was his punching accuracy.

He seems like a very smart boxer that rations out his energy well.

In his autobiography Marciano himself admitted his lack of talent. That is the reason he trained so hard.
