This is also true. But unless Calzaghe beats up Hopkins convincingly, a loss to him, for Pavlik, would put Pavlik back a lot.:think

Will he risk it? Americans don't think that much of Calzaghe anyway; most think Pavlik should win this easily...what if he doesn't?

Pavlik CANNOT effectively fight in both weight classes. He has to commit to the extra weight of SM to take the fight with Joe, and that will be a couple of years down the road. He has titles to defend.

Only way Pavlik could take this fight is if FIGHT WEIGHT was 168. Ain't gonna happen. JC can't fight at that weight.

In terms of the likelihood of Pavlik-Calz I didn't think Arum would be keen on it but recent comments he made in the light of Pavlik-Lockett suggest there may be manouvering (can never spell that word!) by HBO/Arum towards making it happen. Arum has made it clear Winky Wright isn't in the frame so if Abraham can't be prised out of Germany there may be a shortage of big money options. Duddy's last fight was a PR disaster so can't really see that either.
