After last Saturday nights showing where Crawford had to dig deep against a lame, then I don't see Bob Arum letting the bud go anywhere near Spence.
Not even that.. The fact that he ruled out Garcia, Porter and Thurman is more telling than anything.. It means he plans on matching Bud soft until the Spence fight.. I think this fight finally happens when ESPN put the pressure on Top Rank to deliver a marquee fight.. I hold both sides to blame as right now they have to two biggest P4P fights right now in Mikey vs Loma and Crawford vs Spence.. something has to give
Doubt it even happens. It's a boxing fans fight but the money either one of them wants probably won't be there. We see how long these fights take to make n this isn't Floyd PAC with hundreds of millions to make so I doubt al or bob is chomping at the but for it. Neither guy needs the other but bud needs access to someone at pbc. Al can freeze bud out of that inner circle of top Welters n spence eventually moves up where he's got pbc in house fights all the way to middle. If I hear one more pbc fighter utter the stupidass phrase "other side of the street" I'm gonna lose my mind.
I would pick "never" before any specific year or two. There is always the likelihood of one or both losing or getting injured or moving up in weight at the wrong times. It doesn't seem on the horizon now, so who knows. I do imagine eventually hopefully within a year tops Crawford will, to Arum's anger, have to face one of Spence/Thurman/Porter/both Garcia's.
**** knows when it will happen. Doesn't seem like either side is trying to make the fight to be honest. I don't think there is enough money in it at the moment for either side to risk it anytime soon.
2021 and by then one of them will clearly be the better of the two and it wont be seen as a 50/50 fight anymore
