...why can't they include the original blow by blow commentary instead of dubbing it over with a couple of boring, monotone nobodies? If the fight took place on HBO, I want to hear Lamps voice and go down memory lane. The drama he adds to a fight is irreplaceable. Anyone else feel me?
Dont mind about that, the thing that gets me, is when they air the real old fights like Dempsey Tunney 1, or Johnson Jeff, they get the rounds wrong lol. Round ten of Dempsey Tunney 1 is relly round "4". And round 12 of Johnson Jeff is round 13(You can spot the 13th round card going down if you catch it). The biggest one is Dempsey Carp, round 1 is relly round 2?? How do these brain dead people make such mistakes?
Im watching Gatti-Robinson 1 now, and these passionless bozos are talking about it like it's just another fight at a second rate venue. Stupid.
I've got it on too. Really just killing the time 'til the Miranda and Pascal fights. But tonight at 12 am they are showing Tex Cobb vs. Ernie Shavers, that should be fun.:deal
I've noticed this lately too. Showtime cards are generally always still all dark but the ring, and HBO has lighting to see the crowd. I must admit though sometimes I like seeing the crowd on HBO's shows.
I don't feel this at all. Joe Tessatore and John Scully do a great job with the play by plays. ESPN can't air the original HBO commentary without paying for it. No doubt, it is cheaper to provide their own commentary.
Definitely. It makes me wanna strangle Joe Tessatore with a cable, really, I hate Joe Tessatore, and hearing his voice over a Holyfield or Whitaker classic just ruins the nostalgia. I don't think ESPN has the rights tho to use the original HBO production, so they re-dub it.
