I thought Holy won... .... one round. Maybe two. Worst decision that I ever personally witnessed. Martinez/CIntron might have been even worse since Sergio KO'd the dude, then outpointed him. And came away with a draw.
Then I suggest you watch a bit more boxing... Start with: Whitaker/RamirezI Everett/Escalera Chavez/Whitaker Foreman/Schultz Foreman/Briggs Nelson/LeijaI I accept judging is subjective, but I think a big majority of people would suggest, the fights listed were at least equal (many far worse) than Lewis/HolyfieldI.
Yeah, seeing as fighters have LOST fights where they should have been awarded every round clearly, I can't see how Lewis getting a DRAW can seriously be considered the worst decision ever, and find it hard to believe it's the worst some people here have ever seen. I thought he won 8 or 9 rounds, and he ended up with a draw. Bad decision, yes. Worst in the annals of boxing history ? Nowhere near.
the ist azumah nelson jeff fenech fight was a robbery i thought fenech won easily even though in the rematch nelson hammered him .
I had Huck up by one point. Thought Lebedev was the better man in the ring though. Most fights of Ottke were people screm robbery - not Reid even so this wasn´t a robbery but "just" a bribed or something ref. But that´s because most people don´t understand what happened in Ottke fights. He foguht, won rounds, his corner got the scorecards of the judges every round (illegal and a huge low blow for the sport IMO) and when Ottke had 7-8 rounds in the bag he would stop doing anything. His trainer even advised him to just do as if he was punching. So, his opponents swept the last 4-5 rounds in nearly every fight, making those fights closer than they should have been. Of course people will scream robbery when a fighter is winning the last 4-5 rounds. But everytime I score those fight I come up with 7-5 or 8-4 for Ottke, best I could give, Brewer in the first fight, was a draw. And I hate that guy. He more or less single handily destroyed Germany´s reputation in boxing. And he just is a ****. The way he acted in the Reid fight, in post-fight interviews and other interviews. You just can´t like that guy. There were many shady things going on around some of his fights but I don´t think even one was a robbery.
I agree the reid - ottke can't be considered a robbery in a scoring sense because he actually did get deducted and the knockdown wasn't scored. As bull**** as that was, it weren't the judges.
Yeah, I was OK with that decision. Forrest over Quartey is another hotly disputed decision that didn't strike me as being highway robbery, either.
It kind of gets lost under the other draw on the bill. I thought Nelson pretty much wiped the board with the youngster. But then I never really understood the fuss with Nelson/FenechI, Nelson fought brilliantly with his back to the ropes.
Don't get me wrong I have it very close and watched it a good few times. I meant to say it would have been a worse decision if Graham got it than vice versa
Initially it was ruled as a Nelson win before it was changed to a draw. Wouldn't have given Leija the nod, but I think Jesse James was competitive throughout, and fought make a draw an acceptable outcome, all things considered.
