    I'd also like to know...

This whole idea that taking blood close-ish to a fight will effect him mentally and physically is still laughable though.

It is not a legitimate reason to not accept the fight (and $50 million) nor is it a legitimate excuse.

It's a blood test. i.e. a non issue (or should be, anyway)

And Mayweather has agreed to a cut off date. Pity Manny has backpedalled and is now saying cut off date must be 30 days before fight.

Bob Arum was promoting Morales that time too, let's see what he has to say about that.

IIRC, it was for a license renewal or something like that.

That was a few days before the MP-EM I fight.

I'll dig around the local papers archives, online, for a while, and post it here.

    EDIT:

Meh, tired of digging around for it on the PACLAND Archives.

    Too many old threads.

    :good

Do you honestly think it effected his performance?

He looked perfectly fine to me (outside of the cut, of course).

Not sure if the blood test affected his performance directly, but I was honestly thinking "WTF?!" the first 6 rounds of the fight or so.

So were my father and uncles and their friends, when we were watching it live on TV.

I thought he lost his normal aggression that fight, compared to his earlier fights. He's usually throwing punches like he wants to really hurt you and he didnt care so much about winning the round 10-9, as long as he knew he was breaking you down.

But EM clearly won the fight on points that night. No robbery.

I believe it was for his boxing license renewal in Nevada, it has nothing to do with any particular stipulation in the Morales fight.

It was only few days before the fight when they remember that the deadline is close and nobody from the PAC camp ever reminding Pac to do it long before the fight. Pac specifically said in TV that he felt it weakened him.

I think the amount of blood taken is 6 oz or something like that, not just few drops. Not saying that it is wrong to take this much amount of blood, but it certainly bothered Pac.

Any difference in his performance would have been attributed to his opponent (Morales)...

The blood test would have had absolutely nothing to do with it.

I remember that fight clearly. We were at home, we were all guys and I was sitting near our window.

My father was pissed off, saying "WTH? It's like he's sick or something?"

My uncles also thought he wasnt throwing his punches as heavy as he normally does.

I have followed his fights since his early years and my mind was comparing all his previous fights to the fight I was watching that day. (EM-MP I) and there was something missing.

Again, not saying it was because of the blood test.

I sincerely felt there was something missing.

And I was waiting for him for 6 rounds to turn up the gear another notch, but still nothing.

His ferocity and nastiness didnt come through, fully.

Pac made it clear that he believed that the blood being taken weakened him.

Whether it did or did not? Who knows. It would seem that any effect would have to be psychological rather than physical.

What it does establish is consistency with Pac's position after the Morales fight and his position now. He doesn't want to be tested before the PBF fight as he believes it weakens him. Whether you or anyone else thinks this is a rational belief doesn't matter.

So now Pacs blaming blood test for his Morales loss  I though he said it was the socks, gloves and lighting.
